A/N: Shall we begin?
-o-
Yoongi didn't know much about his mother's love life and he didn't care much about her personal affairs between the sheets. It just wasn't something he felt comfortable knowing and discussing with his mother and thankfully she understood that. She even agrees with his ideology, that family and well— affairs— should remain separate.
You could imagine Yoongi's surprise when he was introduced to his mother's current lover, Kim Hyun-Soo. He's never seen his mother shine so brightly with love since the passing of his late father; so he was willing to open his heart and accept his mother's new boyfriend into their lives.
When Yoongi and Hyun-Soo first met, he was definitely not expecting to see a handsome, middle-aged man with a charming smile sitting in their small apartment living room. He would have called the cops if it wasn't for his mother standing calmly in the kitchen making tea.
At least he didn't scream, that would have been an embarrassing first introduction.
Min Yoongi is a very shy boy, so no one can blame him for his blushing face and stuttering voice as the both of them exchanged pleasantries with each other.

They all ate dinner together, crammed around the ugly yellow table in the kitchen. His mother was laughing, cheeks a rosy red from delight as Hyun-Soo recalled a wild story from his teenage years. Something to do with a motorbike and a lake covered by a thin sheet of ice; Yoongi doesn't really know, he's not paying attention. He sighs around his mouthful of spaghetti, wishing he'd grabbed an extra piece of garlic bread from the counter.
Yoongi looked between the two of them when he heard his mother's twinkling laugh(something only HE was able to draw out) and that's when he knew that this whole ordeal was rather quite serious.
The boy might have felt a small twinge of pain and loneliness in his heart, but he ignored it. After all, his mother deserves any kind of happiness she can get. Yoongi's not going to be the one to ruin it.

Yoongi definitely underestimated this Kim Hyun-Soo guy.
He saw the man almost regularly every Tuesday and Saturday night at their ugly yellow table for dinner for a full two months after that first night. Turns out that Hyun-Soo is just as serious about his mother as she is with him. Min Shinae was not a woman who fell in love easily, so this was obviously something very serious.
The young Min found himself learning quite a bit about his mother's boyfriend during these "dinner dates" he often found himself apart of. Turns out, Hyun-Soo is a successful business man and the guy had been married four times before. A little sketchy, but the dude seems alright, nice even. Yet, Yoongi can't help but find himself hoping that his mother doesn't become wife number five. Yikes.
