It was dark and raining , I could hear his footsteps quickly approaching me, Heart racing I ran towards my car. 'Why did I have to cover for Maria,' I cursed. The parking lot behind the bakery was deserted, it was 8pm on a Sunday night and I'd stupidly agreed to close for my boss tonight.
"Emily'" he crooned, ''Emily" it come out as a cynical chuckle this time. "Come out, come out where ever you are."
I saw my car parked in the back of the lot where I left it. I fumbled in my purse for my keys in a panic. I could hear his footsteps getting closer and closer. My hands were shaking so hard that I dropped my keys on the floor. I almost cried in panic 'oh no! Oh no , oh no,' I pressed to button on the key fob as soon I managed to grab it off the floor, I hastily climbed in. I was halfway in when I felt a hand grab my elbow. He was strong, so strong and dragging me out of the car.
I was kicking and screaming. I felt a sharp tug on my braid as he grabbed me, "caught you little mouse," he chuckled, his face was pressed my cheek. "You thought you could get away, but you can't."
I could feel his breath on my neck , I kicked back my leg and kicked him as hard as I could between his legs, he instantly let go of my hair. "You stupid bitch," he bent crumpled into a ball, but his other hand still had a hold of my wrist." I pulled away as hard as I could but he dug in his nails. With my free hand I thrust my palm up against his nose. He let go of me and cursed.
With no hesitation I climbed in the car and slammed the door shut instantly locking it, my hands were shaking as I started my car.
I started driving home when I notice a car following me, I felt my stomach drop 'oh god what do I do now? ' I increased my speed, it's normally a 20 minute drive home, and while I love the solitude and quiet of not having neighbors close by I don't today. I'll be all alone and then what, tears fill my eyes " oh daddy, I wish you were here you'd know what to do."
His car speeds up bumping into mine . I start crying harder. " Papi," I sob almost hysterical "virgencita Maria, what did I do?" I speed up even more, his car bumping into mine even harder. My hands clenching the steering wheel, I see the turn off for New Species Reservation, remembering they have security officers, I turned quickly speeding up down the paved road heading to their gates.
His car bumps into mine this time attempting to push me off the road. Panicking I start honking my horn trying desperately to bring attention to myself, But it just seems to make him angrier and he rams into my car . My head bumps into the steering wheel it makes me see spots. 'Almost there ' I keep honking I can see the gates . I let out a sigh of relief when his car slows down behind me. He revs his car aggressively and pulls a u-turn driving away as I pull up to the gates. I close my eyes and completely break down . Turning into a sobbing mess. I hear a soft tapping on the glass and flinch, a huge man in a black uniform is looking at me with concern in his eyes.
" Are you alright female ? " his deep gruff voice. I look wide eyed at him. The flattened nose, dark brown eyes, a huge man that could only be described as a tank. 'Species' He was easily 6 feet. "come out slowly we mean you no harm female."
Shakily I climb out the door, I feel ever tinier if possible at 4'11" I'm short but next to him I feel so eerily dainty. " what happened? Are you injured?"
I couldn't speak he was so big and so threatening I heard a noise and turned up to a wall of 6 men in the same dark uniforms had guns pointed at me. I started shaking uncontrollably. He growls a deep, menacing sound " put down the weapons she is no threat, she is in shock and injured."
"Female do not be alarmed. I will take your hand and lead you through the gate." His large hand took mine gently. " I do apologize we do need to pat you down, it is regulations. Do you wish to wait for a female To be called ?"
