Norman sat in comfortable silence with his closest friends, the trio sitting underneath a large oak tree that provided the best shade compared to the other trees on their school's campus. It was almost always like this; after a long day of classes they'd all gather under the tree and relax together for awhile before heading home. Everyone was preoccupied with their own thing; Emma doing her homework, Ray reading yet another book, and Norman filling out paperwork for his class president related things.Norman felt soft movement within the top of his hair, his writing coming to a pause due to the sudden distraction. He throws a glance to his sides; his left checking Emma, then his right, checking Ray to see if they noticed.
'They didn't notice..' he thinks to himself, taking in a deep breath, he lets out a rather stiff sigh before going back to his writing. The movement continued, traveling throughout his head of hair until it reached close to his left ear. His writing stopped again, this time tapping his pen against the paperwork waiting patiently. He closed his eyes, focusing on the tiny voice that his within his white locks.
'Are you with Ray and Emma today?' Norman answered with a faded 'mhm.' before picking up his writing once more. He could tell by the pace of movement he felt in his hair that (Name) got excited. His tiny friend adored his friends just as much as he had, though out of worry and unspoken over protection, he never introduced her to them. Not yet at least, he did plan on doing it eventually though.
He could feel his hair being parted, indicating that she was poking her head out of hiding in an attempt to see her surroundings. Anxious, but still trying to keep calm to avoid drawing his friend's attention he covered the side of his ear, and used his fingers to gently push her back into hiding. "Not huh." Norman could only imagine the pout she would be giving him.
"Are you okay, Norman?" Emma looked at her friend with pure curiosity, seeing him cover his ear. "I'm alright," he spared her a casual smile, hiding the frustration he wanted to express when he felt shuffling again in his hair. She was moving to his right ear now. "What makes you ask?"
"Oh well, you were covering your ear and making weird sounds.." Emma's concern was side tracked seeing something about her homework she hadn't noticed earlier, he was thankful for that distraction. Simply repeating "I'm fine.", he pretended to focus back on his paperwork. Sternly, Norman striffled a cough as a warning to (Name). She clearly ignored this.
Ray lifted a brow, taking notice of Norman's fake cough. He could recognize that type of cough anywhere; he'd use it all the time to get attention from his student council buddies or as a 'polite' way to put his foot down. Breaking his attention from his book, he gave Norman a bored look, already seeing through his 'I'm busy filling out paperwork' facade. Just when the raven male was about to return to his book, Norman's hair moved.
Ray pressed his lips into a thin line, disgust bubbling within him. There was no breeze, and his hair moved on its own? Putting his book to rest in his lap, he scooted away from his friend. "Norman do you have lice?"
Shook, Norman turned to Ray to argue against his sudden assumption. "What? Lice–"
There was a loud gasp from Emma, who suddenly jumped to Ray's side. "Ew, Norman you have lice?!"
Torn between offended and confused, Norman yelled "No I don't have lice! Why would I have lice?!"
Emma barked "You were touching your ear earlier!"
"What does my ear have to do with lice?!"
"Your hair keeps moving, it's doing it now!" Ray pointed to Norman's abnormal curl, that was indeed moving. Emma covered her mouth "It is!".
