Chapter Eleven:
Niall POV:
I don't remember how I got home, just that I woke up in my bed. My mom said that Zayn carried me in, taking me to bed and laying me down. I smiled, he was so sweet.
I waited for him to pick me up from school, glancing at the clock every couple minutes. Where was he? He was already twenty minutes late from his usual time.
"Honey? Why don't you just let me take you? You'll be late for school if you don't leave now." My mom said, wrapping me up in a hug when my eyes started to water.
I nodded, picking up my bag and heading towards her car. She followed after me, making up excuses for Zayn, like he overslept or his car wouldn't start. I tried to believe her, but a big part of me thought that he finally realized that I wasn't good enough for him. I wouldn't be surprised. Zayn was amazing and I was just me. Nothing.
I tuned my mom out for the rest of the ride, something I wouldn't normally do but I was extremely upset at the moment. Why was I so upset? It's not like I've known Zayn for years. It's just that...I feel like we have this connection. Like we are meant to be, though I'm probably really wrong.
"I'll pick you up after school baby, don't worry about Zayn dear." My mom smiled at me in empathy, pulling up and stopping at the schools front doors. I nodded to her, getting out and waving goodbye.
I watched her drive off, sighing before I made my way up into the school building.
The day went by slow, no sign of Zayn anywhere, making me even more sad than I already was.
It was lunch time now, a horde of teens rushing to get the first picks of the mediocre cafeteria food. I wasn't hungry, not seeing or hearing from Zayn ruining my appetite.
I was walking out of the schools front doors, to sit underneath one of the big oak trees for the remainder of the lunch period, when a force rushed into me. I turned, staring into the green eyes of the guy who has been mean to me this whole year so far, Harry Styles.
"Have you heard about Zayn yet?" He asked, more like snarled, at me. I stared up at him in confusion, heard what about Zayn?
"No," I shook my head. Harry glared at me, fists clenching and unclenching. His anger distracted me, almost to the point where I completely missed his smirk.
"He's in the hospital." He growled before walking away, swaggering off into the parking lot and taking off on a motorcycle.
I was frozen in place. Zayn was in the hospital? He was fine last night!
I pulled out my cell phone, calling my mom and hoping that she would pick up.
"Where's the fire sweetheart?" She answered on the third ring, sounding flustered and a little anxious.
"Zaynie is in the hospital mummy! I need to go see him now!" I yelled into the phone, teetering on the verge of tears.
