Yuuri should've greeted him. He should've took the opportunity to know Victor a bit more. Start a small conversation because Yuuri was going to live with this man for the next couple of months and maybe AT LEAST speaking to him would grant some form of comfort.
Maybe he should've gave a causal wave of his hand and talk to him later when he wasn't panicking and hyperventilating. Maybe just should've not say anything at all and be the quiet roommate. At least then Yuuri wouldn't feel the sudden stench of creepiness erupting from practically stalking the man from afar.
Yuuri did nothing of the sorts.
His stupid, moronic brain forced him to sputter some random excuse that probably wasn't even in English, jolt off to the nearest restroom, and slam the door loud enough for the entire dorm to hear.
With the last resounding noise echoing the empty bathroom, Yuuri let out muffled wail into his cupped hands. His face was hot and red from embarrassment, yet some how his paled mortified expression still seemed blatant underneath it.
He cursed, as he pushed his glasses up to his forehead and held his burning face over the sink as thoughts rushed in his head like the dam had been finally broken.
Victor. Fucking. Nikiforov.
Out of the hundreds he could've ended being in, he was with him. Not even the likely chance that Victor would've ended up in a room with anyone in his major like the system normally worked.
Yuuri choked out a whimper shaking his head viciously and splashed his face with the coldest water the facet could manage.
Why didn't he just read the roommate assignments when he got them? Why didn't he at least take the smallest of glances, so he could prepare himself or even try to change it before roommate assignment changes were vetoed so he didn't have to deal with the stress of having someone like Victor in his premise?
He had already had his boxes in his room! He couldn't have just taken a single glance after moving them? A single centimeter of a glance at the paper tapped on the inner door?
Yuuri didn't know. He was distracted, and he was tired for the entirety of summer break. After he nearly flopped one of his class finals, Yuuri has blocked out everything in his life to make sure he doesn't make that mistake again.
He groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose as he glanced remorsefully at the doorknob in front of him.
Yuuri never hated himself more, and the sudden realization struck him.
Yuuri probably made one of the worst possible impressions he could've physically managed to the man he'd legitimately dreamed about being a friend with.
Victor, the social butterfly who Yuuri has watch turn the shyest of introverts in the most popular kids in the school, was just screeched at in a completely different language and ran from.Yuuri would've cried if he could. Cried and sobbed from just the utter weight from that.
Maybe he can just drown himself in the showers or the sink, maybe just hold his breath long enough for it to run out.
Literally quite anything would be better then facing the man outside the door. If Yuuri just left this god forsaken planet, maybe Victor would be able to have an entire dorm room to himself.
Doesn't that sound great? Maybe Victor would use the extra space as a garbage can or a gym. It'd be so much more useful then a stupid lustful roommate who can't even speak correctly half the time.
