PRESENT TIME
I take a quick shower to wake me up. I feel like wearing shorts today so I shave my legs as fast as I can and finish off my body.
My finger still hurts from yesterday, and, as I assumed yesterday, my finger got a little swollen and purple. I can't bend it too much but it won't be a hassle if I don't use it too much.
I get out of the shower and dry off my hair. I slip on my white high waisted shorts and throw on a pink oversized shirt and tuck it in. I grab some cute chanclas with beads in them and slide them on.
I decide to let my hair down today and I apply a bit of mascara on with a tinted lip balm.
Okay perfect.
Damn you look good Sky.
Just kidding, you idiot.
I put on some small earrings on that go with my outfit. And pop my contacts on.
Yes, I wear glasses. I love my glasses and I think I look better with them on but contacts are great as well. I don't have to worry about cleaning them every hour or breaking them.
I'm really blind.
I walk out of my room and knock on dad's door, telling him that I'm leaving. I hear him say a 'goodmorning' and a 'have a good day' before walking away. I leave him some pancakes wrapped in aluminum foil on the table and I make my way outside.
I unhinge my bike from the pole outside my house and make my way towards school. I left extra early today because I wanted to buy Amalia lunch like I promised. I briefly remembered, I passed by a small food business on the way to school yesterday so I wanted to check it out.
Not even 3 minutes later I see the small business in the distance. It's a medium sized place, with the words "Jamie's Cafe" written on the outside. The exterior is a cream color and decorated with light grey objects.
It's cute.
I finally get there and find a nearby pole to secure my bike with its metal chain. I walk inside the cafe and hear a bell ring when I walk in. The inside is decorated with tables and chairs, even some sofas. It looks clean and it smells like coffee. I walk towards the counter and see a guy standing there looking down at a paper in his hand and pen on the other.
I arrive to the counter.
"Good morning," I say, breaking his attention from whatever he was reading.
He puts his things out next to him and finally looks at me.
"Good morning, welcome to Jamie's Cafe, what would you like?" He asks as he smiles at me.
He has light brown hair and eyes that match. He's a couple inches taller than me as well. He looks to be Hispanic.
He's cute.
"Can I get ahh..." I start looking at the menu that's displayed on the board behind him, "okay I would like 2 frosted donuts, 2 turnkey sandwiches and a caramel frappe with extra caramel."
He puts the order in the cash register.
"That'll be thirteen dollars and fifty cents," he says as he reads the amount displayed on the cash register.
I take out my money from my pocket and give it to him.
"So," he starts as he gathers my change, "I've never seen you around here. Did you just move into the neighborhood?"
