We enter the classroom and we run to the back, claiming the seats farthest away from the front. I set my backpack down and notice the class filling up with chatter. I see a few people stare at me and look away quickly.

I understand. I'm a new face.

Right before the bell rings I see a blonde girl walk into class, taking a seat near the front of the class. I recognize her.

It's that rude girl from earlier.

I hope I never talk to her again.

I see a man no older than 40 walk into the class, setting his things down on his desk. I assume that's the teacher.

"Good morning guys," he says out loud, grabbing everyone's attention. The class quiets down.

"I hope everyone had a good weekend. I hoped y'all remembered there was a quiz today?" He looks around amused as the whole class groans.

He continues, "Luckily for y'all, there won't be a quiz today because we have a new student here." Everyone sighs in relief. I look at Amalia and she gives me a thumbs up and mouths a 'thank you'. I wink at her and she laughs.

"Let's see," the teacher says as he checks some papers in his hands, "Sky Chrollo?" he says and looks around the room. I raise my hand up high and suddenly see everyone's attention on me.

Well this is embarrassing.

"Nice to meet you Sky. My name is Mr. Crawford. I hope you get along with everyone well." He sets his papers down and starts talking again. Diverting the attention away from me. "Okay class, we have a new assignment today. Open up your books to page 143."

I look around and see everyone pull out a book from their backpacks. I don't have one of those.

"Psst," Amalia grabs my attention and whispers, "lets share my book for now, you can get one of these in the library."

I scoot my chair over to her desk quietly.

"Thanks Amalia," I say and give her a quick high five.

"You know I got you," she responds.

English class passes by like a flash and the bell rings.

"We have 5 minute breaks in between classes. You can come and leave things in my locker if you want. We can be locker buddies!" Amalia exclaims as she puts up her things.

"Sounds like a plan," I smile at her. I follow her out of the class and we head towards her locker. The halls are packed but not packed enough to be smushed. We swerve between people and finally make it to her locker.

Amelia starts to put in her combination. "So, how are you liking the school so far?" she asks.

I shrug, "It's okay so far, I didn't expect it to be filled with mostly middle class and over students though."

She shoves things in her locker. "Yes I forgot to tell you that detail. I mean did you not see the houses around this neighborhood?" She has a point. I should've figured at least that.

"Not to mention, I bumped into a blonde girl earlier and she was rude about it. I wanted to say something but I didn't." I look around and see the hallways slowly emptying.

"Rude? What she look like? I'll walk you to your Calculus class, it's in the same hallway as my class." She says as she closes her locker and starts waking.

I follow her lead, "She had in a white shirt and black jeans on. White heals I think.... wait she wasn't blonde she had pink straight hair that ended by her waist."
