I look to my right to see Amalia looking at me with her eyes glistening with light. She's trying hard not to laugh by the way she's pursing her lips together. She starts to grab her own arm and starts to squeeze it to suppress her laugh.

I feel my face getting hot.

I clear my throat and stand up.

I look at Dean.

Damn he looks so good.

"What do you want?" I ask, avoiding the question he asked me.

He pulls out my pink notebook form his backpack.

He nods towards the notebook, "You left this in Calculus."

I'm a little taken back by the friendly gesture. I reach for my notebook.

   "Oh, thank you," I say.

"What happened there?" he asks, looking at my messed up finger.

I totally forgot it was injured. It's still a nasty purple color and a bit swollen.

"One of your buddies threw a basketball at me yesterday when I was walking away from the gym. He really thought I wasn't going to catch it. He tried to hit my face," I start to ball my uninjured hand into a fist, "I caught it in time though. It was either my face or my finger." I say, looking down at it.

I look back at him and I swear his face expression changed for a split second.

"It looks like shit, bet it hurts" he says.

I wince in pain as I try to move it.

I slightly smile, "It could be worse. It's nothing I can't handle." I look back at his table and back at him.

Dean might be friends with that group but I can tell he's different from the rest of them. But I can't let my guard down.

The farther away from them the better.

"Thanks for bringing my notebook again," I tell him and sit back down, avoiding eye contact. I hear him walk away.

"I can't believe my fucking eyes!" exclaims Amalia once Dean is far enough. She grabs my left arm and starts moving it none stop.

"Que Amalia, que!?" I ask, getting frustrated as my eyes look at my notebook.

"He just brought you your notebook. Clearly he could've just left it there and moved on with his day like the asshole he supposedly is in your eyes. But no, he brought it to you!" She starts to bounce on her seat.

I roll my eyes, "You're forgetting that he's contaminated by your cousin. I don't plan on talking to him." I pull my arm away from her and frown, putting my hand on her shoulder.

"Please don't put these absurd ideas in my head. I know you mean well but it will come back and hurt me at the end," I tell her honestly. I have too much experience when it comes to things like this and I wouldn't want to go through the wrong path again.

Amalia nods her head at me, "Okay Sky I understand. Forget him! Let's find you someone else."

I hug her tightly and thank her for understanding. She knows about my ex boyfriend and how it kinda haunts me up to this day. I know she want to help me forget so I truly appreciate it.

"I didn't know we had a lesbian couple in school."

Me and Amalia are caught by surprise and look behind us to see the rude girl, Nadia, staring at us with her hand on her hips. Her pink hair is curled up to her waist and she's wearing a cheerleader uniform. The rest of the cheerleaders are at their table starting at us.
