Chapter 12

Jessie's POV

Two Days Later...

  We arrive back at Bonnie's house and I begin to develop the shakes. I nearly fall off of Bullseye's back but Buzz manages to catch me. "Jessie, please try to relax. Everything is going to be fine. The gang isn't going to flip out at you. They're going to be relieved to see you." I sigh and take a deep breath. "You're right Buzz." I grab a hold of his hand and squeeze it, holding it all the way into the house. With the help of Bullseye, we manage to climb up to the second floor with good ease. 

   Rex is the first one to spot us and squeals. "Everyone, they're back! Bullseye, Jessie, and Buzz are back. Him, Slinky, and Hamm rush to the window and help open it so we can get in. We stumble in awkwardly but land on soft pillows thanks to Dolly. Dolly and I make eye contact immediately and I do my best not to quiver into a corner. "Jessie, it's good to have you back. How are you?" I smile nervously. "I'm okay, just needed a bit of clarity which my little getaway helped me receive. How are you doing?" Dolly sighs. "I'm okay. I've been helping Hamm keep everyone in check while you three were away." I nod and gulp nervously, getting settled back in. I politely greet everyone and end up falling asleep until Bonnie comes home from school to play with us again.

That evening...

 The joy on Bonnie's face is hard to miss. She's so delighted that Bullseye, Buzz, and myself are back again. Apparently she was quite sad while we were away. That makes me feel a little guilt but at the same time I know that I needed to go. Over a tea party, I tell everyone about us having spent time with Woody and Bo. Telling each and every one of them how much the two of them miss the gang. Woody and Bo even had personalized messages for everyone to make each of them feel special. That really touched my heart. 

    Buzz is being protective of me right now. He's ready to lunge at anyone who decides to give me a hard time. It's sweet but it isn't necessarily. Other than a couple of skeptical looks from Dolly, no one else has questioned my reasoning for having to have gone for a bit. The tea party is really fun though and gives me the mental distraction that I need from dwelling on silly insecurities that float into my mind when I'm depressed, anxious, etc. When the tea party is over and Bonnie heads to bed for the night, I cuddle up with Bullseye and Buzz. Bullseye is sound asleep and Buzz is drifting in and out of consciousness. 

     Buzz looks at me with droopy eyes. "Jessie, I'm proud of you. You handled yourself really well today. You're the strongest woman that I've ever met. I'm so honored to be your boyfriend. I love you. We'll take another trip at some point. I promise you that." I hug him gently. "I love you Buzz and thank you for being there for me. You're one of the few constants in my life and I'm beyond grateful for that." The two of us snuggle together romantically until we both fall asleep in one another's arms. I have nothing but pleasant dreams tonight for a change.
