Morning Duas

1) أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ولَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ 

TRANSLITERATION:

Aṣbaḥnaa wa aṣbaḥ-al-mulku lillaahi wal-ḥamdu lillaahi, laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer, rabbi as’aluka khayra maa fee haadhal-yawmi wa khayra maa ba‛dahu, wa a‛oodhu bika min sharri haadhal-yawmi wa sharri maa ba‛dahu, rabbi a‛oodhu bika minal-kasali wa soo’il-kibari, rabbi a‛oodhu bika min ‛adhaabin fin-naari wa ‛adhaabin fil-qabr.

TRANSLATION:

We have reached the morning and at this very time unto Allah belongs all sovereignty and all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is capable of all things. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what follows it and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the torment in the Fire and the torment in the grave.

Note: (As-sabah) translated as morning refers to the time after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises. 

2) اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا ، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ 

TRANSLITERATION:

allaahumma bika aṣbaḥnaa wa bika amsaynaa, wa bika naḥyaa wa bika namootu wa ilayk-an-nushoor .

TRANSLATION

O Allah, by your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die and unto You is our resurrection. Note: (As-sabah) translated as morning refers to the time after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises. (al-masa-a) translated as evening refers to the time after the Asr prayer until the sun sets, however some scholars say that it refers to the time after the sun sets and onwards. 

3) أَصْبَحْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الإِسْلامِ ، وَكَلِمَةِ الإِخْلاصِ ، وَ دِينِ نَبِـيِّـنَا مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَمِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ 

TRANSLITERATION:

aṣbaḥnaa ‛alaa fiṭratil-islaami, wa kalimatil-ikhlaaṣi, wa deeni nabiyyinaa muḥammadin, wa millati abeenaa ibraaheema ḥaneefan musliman wa maa kaana minal-mushrikeen.

TRANSLATION:

We rise upon the 'fitrah' of Islam, and the 'word of pure faith', and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem (peace be upon him), who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with Allah. Note: 'Fitrah' means the religion of Islam, the way of Ibraheem (peace be upon him). 'Word of Pure Faith' means the Shahadah. (As-sabah) translated as morning refers to the time after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises. 

4) سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ (ثلاث مرات) 

TRANSLITERATION:

subḥaan-allaahi wa biḥamdihi ‛adada khalqihi, wa riḍaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‛arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (3x)

TRANSLATION:

How far from imperfections Allah is and I praise Him by the number of His creations and His pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words. (three times)
