"I'm sorry, you're going where?"
Reed stood in the doorway of his parents' room, watching them pack suitcases.
Ian chuckled, folding a button-up shirt. "It's just a business trip, we won't be gone long."
"A few days," Daniel specified.
"So you'll have the house all to yourself~ You can have a friend over if you want~~" He winked.
Reed rolled his eyes. "Okay, so I'm inviting Hazel over."
Ian looked disappointed, but it was just gonna have to be like that. Reed was going to spend some time with his girlfriend and he was going to enjoy it! He had to remind himself how much he liked her!
And he knew exactly how his dads felt about him and Nico. Was it their fault he'd been having weird thoughts about everything??
"Just remember," Daniel started, interrupting Reed's thoughts. "If you need anything, call us. And if you're going to be, ahem, doing something, do it responsibly-"
OKAY WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS-
"I'm leaving!" Reed turned and covered his ears, leaving the room. He could still hear Ian laughing.
He went into his room to text his girlfriend.
"Hey, my dads are leaving for a few days. Wanna come over?"
As soon as he set his phone down, he got a response.
"Sure ;;;) when can I come over?"
"Idk, I'll text you when they leave."
"Please get permission this time""But you know they'll say no ;-;"
"Wait, I'll ask my mom!"Reed nodded and put his phone down. He was excited! He and Hazel could have the house to themselves for a day or two, just lounging around and watching movies! It was gonna be great!
His phone buzzed.
"My mom said yes!! Can't wait, b ;;;)"
Perfect. This was perfect! He was going to have a perfect time with his perfect girlfriend.
He got off the bed and began cleaning up his room, shoving random things into the closet. Someone knocked on the door before cracking it open. Reed turned his head to see Ian.
"Cleaning your room for your girlfriend?"
"Maybe." He pushed a spare blanket, Nico's favorite of his, under the bed.
His dad nodded. "You know you can talk to us about stuff, right?"
"Yeah?" Reed paused to look at him again, confused.
"Stuff like your sex life..."
"Dad, please stop."
"I'm serious! When your brother was your age, he had long lost his virginity, but you haven't even told us anything about that! Trust me, we know that Hazel sneaks into your room some nights-"
"No she doesn't-!"
"-but you just look uncomfortable!"
Reed crossed his arms and looked down. "I'm not uncomfortable!"
"Are you sure? You can always talk to us if you like-"
"You wouldn't get it," he huffed, which seemed to offend his dad. There was a moment of silence before his father sighed.
"Do you want us to stay home?"
"No. You can go on the trip, I don't see why you'd have to stay home."
