*Niall’s POV*

I nearly jumped out of the car with excitement when we pulled up to the campground. It was a bit late into the evening. This weekend my amazing friend Aviana and I were going camping. She has to be one of the most amazing people I know. She has gorgeous hazel eyes and brown hair. She is adventurous and care free like me, which is why I love going on trips like these with her.

I enjoyed spending tons of time with Aviana because we got along amazingly well and she understood me more than anyone else does. We always make sure to hang out during the weekend and I have never been bored with her.

She laughed as I bolted out of the car and ran to the camp site. The land was a bit steep and was on a ledge so we had a beautiful view of the lake below The weather was perfect, it wasn’t too warm and wasn’t too cold making it nice.

“Niall! You have to help set up the tent!” Aviana called out to me. I jogged over to the back of the car and helped her unload the tent gear. It was a bit heavy so we both dragged it over and plotted in the middle.

“Seems good! So I’ll set up these poles can you grab the tarp?” I asked as I started to get the metal poles out of the bag. She nodded and in no time we had the tent set up.

“FOOD!” I cried out as I raced to the car to find my bag of crisps. She simply chuckled and fiddled around with the radio, trying to find a station. I retrieved my bag and reluctantly gave her some chips.

“Hey, Niall on a few of the stations there have been reports of a possible thunderstorm.” I frowned. It was looked way too nice for any rain to fall today. I absolutely hated thunder and lightning, it scared me.

“Eh, weathermen are never really correct and the tent is waterproof. We’re fine! Hey want to go for a walk?” I chirped grabbing another bag of chips out of the car. I grabbed her hand and began running through the trees. The second  I let go of her hand she grabbed the chips from my grasp and ran ahead laughing.

"AVIANA!" I yelled chasing after her. She saw me getting close to her and sped up. We were going in twists and turns both of us laughing like maniacs. I stopped when I made it through a clearing I had just seen Aviana go through and looked around.

"Boo!" She shrieked and jumped on my back. "Give me a piggy back ride! I'll feed you!"

I giggled at her antics and got a good grip on her thighs to support her.

"Alright!" I opened my mouth and she popped a crisp in. We both burst out laughing causing me to nearly choke and I began walking back to our campsite, giving her a piggy back ride.

When we arrived at our tent she hopped off my back and we immediately started making smores and chucking marshmallows at each other. When it got a bit darker we just sat in the tent and told stories. Soon enough we were both going to sleep.

"Love you! Sleep tight! Don't let the bed bugs bite!" I said in a sing song voice.

"Love you sleep good!" She smiled. My eyes drooped and I soon fell asleep.

I was startled awake by a huge clap of thunder. I looked outside and in a second saw everything go bright from a strike of lightning. I turned over to see Aviana asleep. How could she sleep through this? I would feel horrible waking her so I just let her sleep.

I absolutely hated thunder and lightning. It just scared me to death. I whimpered with the next wave of thunder and lightning. I scooted over to where Aviana was sleeping and snuggled up against her. The thunder and lightning seemed to have calmed down.

I was about to fall asleep again when another bang made me jump and even wake Aviana. She soon realized what was happening.

"Niall why didn't you just wake me? I could've helped you with the storm and everything." She gave me a sympathetic smile.

"I would feel bad, but we can go back to sleep now."

She looked out the tent and looked as if in deep thought. "Niall," she said slowly, "I think we need to go to the car. I mean look where the water is!" I noticed she was pointing out the small meshed window on the side. There had to be at least an inch or two of water and it was all creating a stream.

"Yea let's go. We'll grab the stuff tomorrow morning.  She nodded and we made our way outside the tent. The water had a strong, fast current and it was all overflowing off the cliff. The ground was muddy making it hard to walk properly. She slipped and I quickly grabbed on to her arm, but the current was really strong.

"Don't let go Aviana! Don't let go! Try and stand!" I yelled to be heard over the roar of the water. She got her footing on a secure rock and managed to stand up a bit more. I quickly pulled her up and trudged towards the car. She gripped tightly onto my soaked shirt as I car carried her bridal style.

I nearly fell over a few times from losing my footing, but soon made it to the passenger door. I placed Aviana in her seat then jumped over her and the gearshift, so I wouldn't have to try and go around to the other door.

I turned on the car and tried backing it out, but the tires seemed to have been stuck in the mud. I groaned and tried turning the steering wheel left and right to create some room around the tires. I then began to accelerate slowly so the tires wouldn't dig deeper into the ground and soon we were backing up.

"Prince Niall you saved me!" She joked.

"Anything for you my princess.' I smiled. She leaned on my shoulder as we were driving off. She was staring out the window.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

"How scary this all was!" She spoke after a bit, "and how Titanic like too."

"Titanic?" I was trying to suppress a smile and hold a confused look, but I failed.

"Yea 'Don't let go Aviana! Don' t let gooooo!' kind of like Titanic." she mimicked me. I laughed and then leaned over and kissed her forehead.

"I would never let go of you, beautiful! I love you."

She beamed up at me, "I love you too."
