Friday 28th February 1964

Air Force One (On route to New York)

Jack sat resting his head against the window. He was exhausted. Bobby was glaring at him. He hadn’t forgiven him yet for not running again.

Kenny and Pierre were very suspicious of the purpose of this visit.

New York Airport

7pm

Jack walked beside Pierre to the waiting car, the press were there. They wanted to know why the President was back in New York, he was here last weekend.

“Mr President why are you here? Do you have a girlfriend?”

Jack sighed. “I just lost my wife. No I don’t have a girlfriend.”

Once they were in the limo Jack stared into space. “When are they going to give me a break?” He mumbled.

“Soon Sir.” Pierre replied.

The Carlyle Hotel

Jack began to feel slightly nervous as they walked up to his suite. When he opened the door he went in followed by his staff and Lee. “Jackie?” Jack called.

Jackie appeared with a shy smile on her face, she embraced Jack quickly. “Bunny I missed you.” When Jackie looked up from Jack’s shoulder she saw the shocked faces of Bobby and Lee.

“Jack what the hell?” Bobby exclaimed.

“Tell them Jack, we have to trust them.” Jackie said.

“Okay.” Jack took a deep breath and turned towards them. “Sit down; this might come as a bit of a shock.”

Jack explained everything. “So basically I’m not running because I want to be with Jackie.” Jack said taking her hand. She blushed and leaned her head against his arm.

Pierre was crying. “What’s wrong with you?” Jack asked.

Pierre waved his hands around. “It’s just so romantic.”

Jack laughed and kissed his wife’s head. “Bobby are you still mad?”

Bobby shook his head. He looked stunned. “I….I’m speechless.”

“That makes a change.”

Jackie got up and hugged her sister. “I missed you.”

Lee nodded. Jackie dragged her to the library so they could talk. “I’m happy for you Jack.” Kenny smiled.

“Thanks….you will all keep it a secret right?”

They all nodded.

“Pick a room for the night. I’m sorry I dragged you all down here for the weekend.”

“It’s fine.” Kenny replied. “When will you tell the kids?”

“Next month.”

10pm

“I think I’m going to call it a night.” Jackie said getting up.

“Okay kid, I’ll see you shortly.” He kissed her. She smiled and disappeared into their bedroom.

11pm

When Jack closed the door to his bedroom he grinned. “Whoa you look hot.” Jack smiled, as his eyes traced Jackie’s new nightie.

“Lie down Bunny.”

He obliged and got down beside her. “Do you like it?”

“I love it.” Jack smiled running his hands down her body. She grinned.

Jack kissed her tenderly before they made love.
