The Dream

Chapter 16: News of being home

We get to the town and instantly people start to look at me like I was a zombie. As we walk down the road people start whispering to each other. Sam looks at me then at the people who were walking by. He looks down the road and sees the police station and he knows that we should go there. He then turns to look at me and just like he was reading my mind he turns a different direction that will take us to the hospital. The way to the hospital was quiet I was too scared to talk to anyone and too scared to talk to him. We get to the front doors of the hospital and they open to let us walkthrough. We walk in and make our way to the front desk. As we walk to the desk the woman sitting down saw me and the condition I am in and immediately stood up and ran over to us.

"Can I get a doctor over here?" she says into her pager. "Alright, can I have you follow me."

I look at him then back at her. He grabs my arm gently and followers her to a bed and has me sit down. I sit there quietly and a few minutes pass and the doctor walks in. He walks over to me and examines me. He removes the bandages to take a closer look at my wounds. He grabs my hand and looks at my thumb and pointer finger and sees that both nails are gone. He places my hand down. He walks over to a cabinet and grabs things and walks over to me. He bandages them up and moves on to the other wounds that little my body. A few minutes pass they finish and have me go to a room. They don't want me to leave the hospital until they have further information on my condition.

The nurse then leaves the room leaving me alone in the room. I sit there on the bed and turn on the t.v. I turn to the news to see if anything happened while I was in that abandoned building. Just then the door opens and a nurse walks in with a tray of food and places it down on a table next to me.

"I have contacted your mother, she is on her way over now," she says looking at a few things that I don't understand.

"Thank you," I say looking down at the blanket over my legs.

I then move my hand to the table and move it over so I can eat. It was a simple meal since they can see how malnourished I am. They want to easy my way to eating so I am not overwhelmed. It was a small bowl of mac and cheese. I grab the fork and start eating. I really slowly and not a lot of it. Within a few minutes, I finish eating, there was still some left in the bowl. I sat there in the bed watching the news.

"Breaking news, the women by the Name of Maya Kimora who went missing four months ago has been found in the woods. She is at a hospital resting. We are waiting for a report from the police." The news reporter said

As the tv is on I start off looking out at the window, the sun was bright and blinding, it lit up the whole room with sun rays. The door opens with a creak, and Jessica and my mom come walking into the room. As soon as they see me they burst into tears. Jessica falls to the ground at the sight of me alive. My mother comes and hugs me. Her long black hair was starting to show grey. I sit there as my mother wraps her arms around me. Tears start to form in my eyes, I place my arms around her slowly. I put my head down on her shoulder and start to cry.

Jessica stood up and started to walk to the bed, she stopped just an inch away. My mom just holds me, her grip was tight and unyielding. Jessica joined the hug and we just stay there in the quiet, only hearing the sound of sniffling of noses. After crying for a while I turn off the t.v so we can talk. Jessica moves over to sit down on a chair next to the bed my mom sitting down on the bed.

"How did you escape?" Jessica asked looking at me.

"Someone named Jackson, he helped me get out," I say looking down at the bed. The white sheets and blanket were blinding with the sunlight bouncing off of them.

"How are you feeling sweety? Did they do anything to you?" my mom asks. I look at her in the face and see the worry in her eyes. I look down contemplating on how to tell her what they did to me.
