He was sitting in this one bar once again. Another glass of whiskey in his hand and his thoughts wandering around. The barkeeper was already eyeballing him when he put the glass to his lips again, already grabbing the bottle of whiskey to refill said glass. But Pete didn't really drink the last sip yet. The cold glass leaning against his lips he just stared at the ceiling. All of these beautiful memories they made in here were flooding back into his mind. He thought of Dominic. This right here was the exact same empty little bar they confessed to each other about three years ago. And yet this night he sat there being completely alone except for the few other lost souls sitting for themselves at the bar and besides the dancing area.
Pete still could remember every single detail perfectly that happened this one evening. Dom and him were good friends for a long time before and they used to go clubbing in different clubs and bars pretty often. And this one night in this small bar they got closer than ever before. Even back then it was just as empty as today but still more lively due to the atmosphere between Pete and Dominic. The music was just better even tho it hasn't changed since. Both of the guys were dancing to the most odd party music and they enjoyed it. Pete could still remember how all of a sudden one of his friends songs started playing and they got closer than before without intending it.
The bartender let out a heavy sigh that distracted the green haired guy for a minute so he drank up and immediatly got it refilled by the man he's been crying to for a few months now.
But it didn't last long until his thoughts went back to this one night. After the song was over both of the half drunk guys threw themselves onto two stools next to each other and ordered new drinks. It was this moment when Pete threw himself standing next to the artist. One of his hands was resting on top of the bar counter while his other hand softly touched Dominics shoulder. "You kow what? I wanna run our friendship. We definetly should be lovers instead." were his words when he confessed to the green eyed singer. And said person most likely just smiled at him the brightest smile ever and pulled Pete in.
Without a word the tall guy left the bar alone today. It was pitch dark outside and the sky was clearer than ever so that you could nearly see a million stars. Pete sighed again and slowly started walking home. Home where Dom would be. Meeting again after a fight was always strange, simply because none of them knew what the other one was thinking. Would he still be mad? It was just one of their many fights lately. They kept drifting apart, not even telling each other what happened during the day and eating their own problems. It wasn't always like this clearly. There was this time when they would cuddle up on the couch and watch movies and different series together every weekend and even during the week they found time to go outside for a smoke together while talking about deep topics and just understanding and enjoying each others company. All of this even though back then they techincally seen had less time and more work to do. About four months ago the distancing seemed to have started. There was no particular reason for that because it just happened and only now Pete realised it really and it burned in his head. The thought and fear of losing Dom if they kept on drifting apart was hurting him.
It was just then when he walked past the railroad station they met at for the first time ever. Pete could almost see this day flashing by before his eyes and a small smile grew onto his face when he thought about how nervous he was sitting in the train and texting Dom that he would be there soon. He had gathered his stuff way too early back then and awkwardly sat there waiting for another ten minutes. The thoughts crossing his mind were restless and he couldn't focus on a single one. When he then finally saw the station he had to get off the train he stood up and went right in front of the exit. But when he finally got outside of the train he couldn't make out the loud musician anywhere, even when he stood on his toes there was no man with half pink hair. But keeping on standing right inside of the crowd wasn't an option either so he guessed a random direction and just got out of the mass of people traveling. Strangers could see the man with the septum and the snakebite piercings in his lip turning his head left and right trying to make out his friend when he finally saw the smaller one standing close to the smoking area staring at his phone with headphones in. Pete had a relieved smile on his face then, losing the thoughts of Dom just offsetting him and rapidly walked over to him. Even when he stood right next to Dominic he didn't notice him so he dropped his bag in front of his friends feet which made said guy jump backwards a bit and ripping out his earphones as he noticed who scared him with a wide grin.
