"your timer is up!" brynn shouted.
"it's been up, can you just come out already?" mackenzie banged on the door.
"yeah, it's getting late, we have a curfew." lauren shouted.
asher and annie were in the closet. they finally came out.
"julianna grace leblanc, i-is that a hickey?" brynn raised her eyebrows.
"n-no." annie put her hand over the hickey.
lauren scrunched her nose. "gross."
asher smiled at annie.
"w-well, we should, um, get going." annie grabbed mackenzie and brynn's hand.
"thanks for inviting us hayden." annie said quickly and walked out the door.
"so, you and asher?" mackenzie raised her eyebrows.
"what? no. no. no. no," annie started, "besides, i know better than to get involved with crystal lake boys anyways." annie shrugged.
"i wish kenz knew the same." brynn looked at her.
mackenzie rolled her eyes.
"i already said i wasn't going to date johnny. and i meant that." mackenzie folded her arms.
"yeah, we'll see." brynn scoffed.
the girls walked to annie's house.
"hi mrs leblanc." brynn said when they walked in the house.
"hi girls." mrs leblanc, katie greeted them.
"mom, we're just going to be in my room." annie smiled.
the girls raced up to annie's room.
"cover these!" annie pointed to her neck.
"already on it." mackenzie got the makeup out.
hayley, annie's little sister, busted the door open.
"julianna!" hayley shouted, "how was the party?" hayley smiled.
"f-fun." annie said quickly.
hayley gave her a suspicious look.
"i won't tell mom about the hickeys if you do my chores for a month!" hayley folded her arms.
"a month? you're crazy. they'll be gone by then." annie rolled her eyes.
"fine. enjoy being grounded." hayley smiled at her.
annie glared at her.
"kenz, your phone is ringing." hayley looked at mackenzie's phone.
"oh. i'll be right back. don't make any stupid decisions without me." mackenzie smiled.
she answered the phone and went into the bathroom.
"hello?" she said into the phone.
"kenzie? ziegler?" the boy asked.
"oh. yeah. who is this?" mackenzie furrowed her eyebrows.
"johnny orlando! hayden gave me your number." johnny explained.
"oh." it got awkward.
"so," he started, "wanna hangout on saturday? we could go for ice cream. the park." johnny smiled.
mackenzie began to smile wide, "are you asking me on a date?"
"do you want it to be a date?" johnny asked her.
"yeah, i do." mackenzie said happily.
"then yeah, i am." johnny said.
"okay, but under one condition." mackenzie said sternly.
johnny waited for her to answer.
"it has to stay between us. no one can know. no one." mackenzie's voice got serious.
"not even asher?" johnny asked confused.
"not even asher." mackenzie shook her head.
"carson?"
"nope."
"can lauren know?"
"no! especially not lauren. just us, okay?" mackenzie asked.
johnny laughed a little, "okay. i'll see you then." johnny smiled.
"bye." she said happily and hung up.
mackenzie slid down the bathroom door and smiled to herself. she stood up and looked at herself in the mirror.
"looks like you've got a date." mackenzie smiled at herself.
