"And that's about that for today, don't forget to read page 20 and bring the notebook I asked for next class!" The bell had rung before the tick accent made its appearance once again.
I was able to breathe properly for what seemed to be the first time ever since I stepped a foot in this classroom but somehow, that didn't relieve me.
I picked up my rucksack after packing all my belongings and walked away from that damned classroom as fast as I could, I still cannot believe Calum was indeed in there.
I knew he loved Literature to the point he'd know most of the books on his shelves by the palm of his hand and he would quote things from them quite often but I didn't really expect him to come all the way to the Uk to teach, this makes no sense.
What am I supposed to do when I'm an English major and have his classes literally every single day and oh- tutoring with him on Fridays...
I rushed my way through the hallway after a quick head shake and as I got near my locker I noticed a boy staring directly at me making me a little uncomfortable by how his stare seem to burn into my skin, I decided to ignore him and opened my locker, I took the books I needed and I closed it.
"You should thank me, I saved your butt in English, you're being a little ungrateful, don't you think?" The guy said in a soft tone, a mischievous smirk creeping upon his lips, his dark blue eyes scanning over my figure, making me stand uneasy while mine was directed to the floor, more specifically to my feet.
"Aren't you going to thank me?" He said making my light toned eyes stare up at him to see his arms crossed in front of his chest with authority.
"Thank you." I replied quickly, without thinking much into it, I just needed to be alone and regain my peace for a while.
"You owe me." He dictated with a smirk. "I should get going, see you around." He said almost in a whisper and before I could react he was gone.
I decided against thinking too much into the situation and in desperate need for some fresh air, I went outside, taking a seat near the football field.
"Did you see that hot teacher? If only I could put my hands all over him, I would, in a heartbeat." I was able to hear the loud whisper from the small group of females passing by and for some reason, I feel like I am able to recognize that voice.
Oh. Stacy. How could I forget about her?
"Well, well, well. Look who's back." One of Stacy's friends said pointing directly at me, this could only mean trouble.
"Oh my god Rose, you are back! What a wonderful surprise." Stacy's irony was felt from afar as her eyes fell on my persona.
"Hey... Stacy." I replied as I tried to smile at her, and all I was able to get in return was a laugh.
"Are you thirsty dear? I think you are, but here, I'm a nice person of course." She took a bottle of water from her bag and opened it while walking towards me. Oh my god, what the- "Oops." she laughed while looking at my clothes, them being all wet.
"Are you happy now?"
"Yes I am, be careful, Rose. See you around." And with that, she and her friends left, I admit, I was angry, I thought this was over, it seems like it's still hell here.
I got up and walked until I was inside the building again, and well some students started to laugh when they saw me because it seemed like I had just pissed myself.
"It's just water for fuck's sake, stop with that." I heard someone, it was David.
He got my bag and quickly took his sweatshirt off and gave it to me.
"No need to, I can take care of this."
"Oh yeah? So...do you have more clothes here?" I shook my head no "Can you go home knowing you only have ten minutes before the next class starts?" I said no with my head again "Then tell me, how are you going to take care of that?" He crossed his arms in front of his chest and kept looking at me as I put his sweat on, making a smirk appear on his face when he saw that his clothes were covering all the wet parts of mine.
"But your sweatshirt is going to get water on it and-" he abruptly placed his index finger in front of my lips to shush me and I rolled my eyes at him.
"When someone tries to help you...you just have to say thank you." He said and I thanked him, giving him a little smile.
...
Finally, the school ended for today, I couldn't be happier to be back home since my day was completely messed up, first I discovered Calum's going to be my English teacher, then Stacy still wants to bring her "special" touch into my life and then, some guy starts to speak to me out of nowhere and I only know his name, David.
"How was your day Rose?" my stepmother asks the moment I sit on the couch, and to be honest, I will answer her just because I don't want to be rude since she only asks me about my day to be polite and not because she actually cares about it.
"It was pretty awesome." I said in my fluent sarcasm staring at her and giving her a smile and she smiled back.
"That's good Rose, well, I have to go to my office and your dad will be home before dinner so... I don't know, do what teenagers do, watch tv, surf on the internet..." She said making me nod my head yes "Oh and you should think about helping your parents in the family business, grow a little bit, be someone..." oh there we go again...
"Thank you, my beloved mother, for the advice but I'll stay here and who knows? Get some food and think about how much of a little kid I am because I don't want to make part of all that, because I don't want to turn into a rich arsehole who thinks as himself to be better than anyone else, thank you so much." And with that, I got up and I got upstairs, going into my room and laying in bed, I know... I might have been a bit unnecessary for answering to her in that tone but it annoys me so much when she tries to play the role of someone she is not.
She wasn't born with this much money, she was so humble before, she even used to give food to stray dogs and now she only kicks them away as if they barely exist and that infuriates me.
I glanced over only to see my phone flash a text message across its screen, it was from an unknown number and my curiosity decided to peek through, making me take my phone.
Unknown number: Hey beautiful, hope you're feeling better.
Unknown number: Andy's house, tomorrow at 11 PM.
Unknown number: PASSCODE: You're a dickhead.
