Chapter Seven

~Next Day!~

Fenneko's Pov

I wake up on Alger's bed while he slept on the couch in his room. I sit up and rub my eyes. "Doux?" I mumble, looking over to him as I grab my glasses which fell off my on the bed next to me when I dropped on his bed. He stirs, rolling over to face me, his arm dangling off the couch. "Oh, you're awake, morning." He says, smiling sleepily. I pull my tank top strap that fell down while sleeping and hop off his bed, grab my sweater and slip it on. I then wander over to him and sit on the arm of the couch as he looks up at me.

"Did you sleep well?" He asks. I nod, smiling. He drops his sluggish smile as he sits up and yawns, "So why do you call me 'doux'?" He asks after yawning. I freeze, my face going red. I pull my hood to cover my face before he can see it's red, "I... Je ne veux pas dire..." ("I don't want to say...").

Alger's Pov

I sigh knowing she won't tell me.... But I'm happy she kinda smells like me and not like.....

Like them.

Oh, nevermind!

I mentally throw up my hands.

I look over at her with her red face. Then the door is thrown open to reveal a panicked Quin I jump up standing protectively in front of her.

Where's Rezi when you need him..?

"Quin, what is it!?" I say

"Alger, they found another one!" He says still looking dangerous.

"Ok, we knew there were more of us..."

"No, we thought there was more male, but she's a female!" I suck in my breath, but how they kill all of the females because of their powers.

"How?"

"I don't know, but they're saying she's dominant!"

"Ok, then we have to keep an eye for her and protect everyone... Keep Rezi with you at all time and don't push her." He nods and leaves to find Rezi.

This is not good!

I thought they were gone... Guess not...

Ok, we have to keep with Fenneko.

Yes, she can't be hurt.

Fenneko's Pov

Quin bursts through the door saying some things and leaves, worried. Alger turns to me, picks me up, and puts me on his bed, and tells me not to leave as he stands out his bedroom door for a minute and comes back in, "What's going on?" I ask, "Something I don't want you to know or worry about because I got it, and you will be fine." He answers, his voice going demonic when saying 'fine', I wasn't scared, I heard scarier... "If something does happen and you're unable to protect me, what will happen?" I ask him, "You will die, and I will lose control... Which will start a chain reaction, and the whole Manor beside the Royals, Gatekeepers, and such will end up dead." He answers, his voice cold.

And, that's what scared me.

Alger's Pov

I know she's coming and I know I might actually kill her if she threatens what's mine.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but calm down!

"Bunny, I need to shift to..." I look at her and she nods. I shift and lay my huge head on her lap happy once more.

Fenneko's Pov

I watch as he shifts, then jumps onto the bed and lays his head in my lap, and he is such a cute little doggie! I pat him happily, hoping it'll calm him down. I lean down and kiss him on the head between his ears, trying to help, but knowing how his mind is, I probably just gave him the wrong idea.

Oh, well!

I continue petting him, trying to be comforting, working too as his tail wags happily.

Alger's Pov

You scaring her.

I know, but they are dangerous and she can't get hurt!

I know.

I hope you do...

I fall asleep thinking this, but I know he's taking watch over her.

Fenneko's Pov

I carefully pick up Alger's sleeping doggie form and pull him on top of me as I lay back and drown in my dreams with my arms around him, his warmth and fur comforting to me...
