And with that, Lena lost herself in Kara's arms, letting Kara's love wash over her. Kara's lips made Lena's body tingle and her heart skipped a beat.
Feeling Lena kiss back, Kara took Lena into her arms, using all her strength to be gentle and let her lips touch Lena's. Lena's kisses tapped into deep mines of memory, and the years that had separated them fell away as if they were nothing.
And they were kissing like drowning people breathe- like suddenly they had discovered something that had never been so sweet before that moment. It was a kiss to level mountains and shake stars from the sky. It was a kiss to make angels faint and demons weep. It was a passionate, demanding soulsearing kiss that nearly knocked the earth off its axis.
After the kiss, both looked into each other's eyes, realising what they had done. Sighing, Lena put a strand of Kara's light brown hair behind the Danvers's ear.
"Meet me here tomorrow at school, here at the lake, same time." Lena said, her hand stroking Kara's cheek with a sweet and tender touch.
Enjoying Lena's touch, Kara nodded with a big smile. "We are crazy, right?" Kara asked. She had never expected her former best friend would make her this happy. As the two women parted ways, Kara leaned in and kissed Lena's cheek.
"See you tomorrow." Kara said, as she gazed into Lena's eyes one more time, before walking away from the dark brunette.
It was quiet in town as the two women walked back home. Lena felt lost after that experience. She was wandering around town, staring off into space for a minute. For her whole life, Lena felt as if she had been waiting for her life to happen between the pages of a book, the book she was reading while she waited to arrive at the destination she was destined for. Now, with Kara, she felt like she had finally reached it.
In the meantime, Kara found her way to her house, changed into her pyjamas and laid in bed with a smile on her face, counting down the minutes until her next encounter with Lena Luthor.

The next day of following classes, listening to teachers and taking notes passed extremely slow. Lena was looking at the clock, counting down the minutes until she would see Kara again. She never thought she would want to be around Kara so badly, as the only purpose of that masked night was to kiss Sam. However, kissing Kara made Lena's heart skip a beat faster, even faster than how Sam would make Lena feel. It was as if Lena had forgotten about Sam. Perhaps it was due to Lena's long history with Kara. They were best friends for a long time after all.
Inseparable.
That's what they were. From the moment they met, Lena had felt as if she had come home. Kara was a person with whom Lena had an immediate connection the moment she met her- a connection so strong that she was drawn to the light brunette in a way Lena had never experienced before. As that connection developed over time, Lena experienced a love so deep, strong and complex, that she began to wonder if she had ever truly loved anyone prior.
After Lilian, Lena's mother, had separated them, Lena's heart was unable to heal. Over a year ago, Lilian found out Kara and Lena had become more than friends. The two brunettes had started developing feelings for each other and Lilian was totally shocked. She was not happy with this relationship and wanted to make sure Lena would never see Kara again. In trying to do so, she told Kara's parents that Kara had tried to kiss Lena and had also threatened Lilian. Kara's parents were very shocked to hear about this news. They thought the only solution was to break off Kara and Lena's relationship.
After the whole incident, Lena and Kara never spoke again. There were times Lena felt like she was meant to be alone after she had lost Kara, like the love she had with Kara was not real and she had created it to make sense of her emptiness. The only thing that had kept Lena going was that even though they said goodbye and their paths never crossed, she hoped Kara would carry a piece of Lena within her. She hoped Kara would remember their endless conversations, all of Lena's quiet smiles and blushed glances. She hoped that Kara knew how much Lena loved her, beyond measure.
But now, that was all over. Kara came back to her and Lena was not planning to let her go ever again. After a long day of waiting, it was finally time to see Kara again.
