"Where do you think we'll end up?" Kara asked, as she stroked Lena's cheek. "When we graduate, what will we do?"

Lena raised her eyebrows. "I don't know. It seems so far away. We're only sixteen, Kara. We've got plenty of time."

"No, I disagree with you. Our graduation ceremony is in two years. I just don't want to think about that moment, not yet."

"Why not?" the Luthor asked, looking at Kara.

"Promise me one thing." Kara said on a serious note, changing the subject. "Promise me we'll always stay in touch. We've been best friends for so long and I just hate the idea of us growing apart after graduation."

"Why are you so scared of us growing apart, Kara? You know I would never let you go." Lena answered, as she looked into the brunette's heaven blue eyes. "You are my better half. I would never let my better half walk away from me."

"I'm scared, okay?" Kara confessed, looking down at the ground. "I don't know what I would do without you. You are my best friend, Lena. I've known you like forever. I don't want to lose my forever."

"You won't, I promise." Lena said, raising the littlest finger of her right hand. "Pinky promise."

Kara smiled widely, shaking her head. "What are we? Five?"

Lena nudged Kara's shoulder, as she grinned. "Don't make fun of me, Danvers. You wanted me to promise it; this is how I do it. Come on, give me a pinky promise."

"Fine." Kara raised her hand, and wrapped her pink with Lena's. "You're a nerd, Luthor, you know that?"

"Well, at least I'm your nerd."

Kara rolled her eyes, nudging Lena. Lena was Kara's best friend but the truth? Kara liked Lena. A lot. She made her happy. She made Kara laugh. She was different than anyone else and Lena's smile alone could make Kara's day. It had been on Kara's mind for a long time and today was the day she was going to tell her.

"Yeah, I like that." Kara said, before taking a deep breath. "Lena, I need to tell you something."

Kara felt like she couldn't breathe, like the air was being sucked out of her chest. The Danvers started shaking a bit, and she was desperately trying to control herself.

"What's going on, Kara? You haven't been yourself today."

"Lena Kieran Luthor." Kara started saying, taking a breath. "I like you."

"Well, that's obvious, you dummy."

Kara rolled her eyes. "Just shut up, Luthor." The brunette couldn't help but laugh at Lena's response. "Why do I like you? I don't have an answer for that, but I guess it's just the vibes you give me, the smiles you put on my face, the laughs I get from talking to you, and just the fact that you can make me think of you even if we aren't talking. I honestly cannot say there's an answer to that, but I will say that you are the reason I am happy each and every day."

Lena didn't say anything, she just couldn't.

"I just want you, that's all. All your flaws, mistakes, smiles, giggles, jokes, sarcasm, everything. I just want you. I want you when you're bursting with happiness and I want you when you feel so sad you can't get out of bed. I want you when it pours down with rain and I want you when the sun decides to come out."

Kara paused for a second, as she seemed to get the impression Lena was a little bit overwhelmed. "I want you, Lena Kieran Luthor."

The Luthor had no idea what was happening. She couldn't find the words to say anything. This was really overwhelming and she wished she could say anything, but her mouth didn't want to cooperate.

"Please, Lena. Say something." Kara could only say.

Lena looked up at Kara, making eye contact with the brunette's heaven blue eyes. "I want it too."

"Really?"

"Of course, yes." Lena answered, smiling from ear to ear. "I want all of it. I want the pointless bickering, the late night phone calls, the good morning texts. I want cute pictures with you, to hold your hand. I want to be one of those inseparable couples of which people say 'you're still together?' That's what I want too."

"So you're saying...?" Kara asked, not sure how to finish that sentence.

"I'm saying that I want you, Kara Zorel Danvers. Simply, truly. I want you."
