I must admit that I had never thought that I would find myself being this high up considering my extreme fear of heights. Despite this, I found myself being flown miles above the city in the arms of a man I had just met about 30 minutes ago.
Wait. Does he even count as a man? I mean, sure he's male, but does the term man apply to ghost-like things?
I'm not sure, this has never happened to me before.
"Would you please stop squirming?"
Ah yes, the petrifying fear of heights I have.
"That, you see, sounds nice and easy in theory, but is, in reality, quite difficult to do when one has a massive phobia of heights."
Min huffed, "We're almost there so calm down."
I lifted my head from where I was hiding it. You see, after refusing to take Min's hand, he offered to give me a piggyback ride instead. I was very excited for this because I quite enjoy being above others but it very quickly became too far above and I was forced to hide my face in the back of Min's neck.
Looking up I only saw clouds and stars, the moon seemed to have wandered off somewhere and it was hardly my job to look for it so I simply ignored its absence.
"I don't see it."
"I said, oh, right." Min cut himself off.
The one time I was actually listening to him. Typical.
"I'm actually moving very fast right now," Min continued as if he was hiding something from me, "so when I say we're almost there I mean we have about five minutes of flying left. The compound's not visible yet."
Ah I see, he takes me for a fool. I thought he had changed his lying ways when it turned out he wasn't lying to me and I had just skipped English too many times, but it seems old habits die hard. There is no building. I know this because he can't keep his story straight; he just called it a compound. A truly despicable liar.
I continued to sulk at my friends regression to old bad habits for a while before I noticed a small arrangement of buildings floating a little ways in front of us. They were doing a fairly poor job at it, for they needed to be assisted by clouds placed beneath them. You'd think they be good enough at the one thing they have to do all day to not need help but nope.
We were soon right at the tall silver gate that clearly was only there for decoration because if you could get to this point, you could fly over the fence around the buildings. As we approached, the huge gate started to swing open and a carriage could be seen a few meters from the entrance.
"OVER HERE!!!"
I violently flinched. The carriage just yelled at us.
Min, while he didn't flinch at the exclaiming vehicle, yelped when I started to flail like a salty squid. He quickly descended before dropping me unceremoniously on the ground- erm cloud.
"Why are you so wiggly?!?" He seemed quite frazzled and a little bit terrified. "I almost dropped you!"
"That sounds like a you problem."
"That is the opposite of a you problem!"
"I know, that's why I said you not me."
"I-"
"HEY!" The carriage suddenly shouted again, interrupting Min in the process. Very rude.
Min, like a fool, turned suddenly toward the carriage. I took this opportunity to strike.
Min dropped to the ground.
I also dropped to the ground.
Yup, I drop-kicked him.
I heard a gasp and a quick succession of footsteps tapping towards where we had fallen. I decided to assess the situation and open my eyes.
There was a young woman who stood in between us looking quite conflicted as to whom to go to first. She looked to be about twenty, had long black hair and a very concerned expression.
"Are you guys okay?!"
My! What a familiar voice!
"You've taken human form!" I shouted in awe.
I received two blank stares, one coming from much higher than the other.
"I've done what now?" The woman look puzzled now and I saw her eyes flicker to Min who had yet to get off the floor. Min shrugged at her before freezing and turning to look at me. His mouth opened into a large 'o' shape and the woman looked positively lost.
"You've got to be joking..." Min, no longer frozen, held his forehead like he had a headache and huffed.
"The only joke here is your defense instincts." I jabbed as I sat upright.
Min appeared unamused. Clearly he had no humor in his strange ghost body.
"She thought you were the carriage because we couldn't see you from where we were." He turned towards the woman.
I suddenly jumped up and exclaimed, "Today has been wild! First Min falls back into his old lying habit- truly disappointing- and then I meet a former carriage!" I spit out all in one breath (very impressive I know), and look at the woman while I practically vibrate on the spot.
She sputtered.
"How- old habit? Old? How long have you known each other? I thought this was your first mission??" At some point she started directing her questions at Min but this wouldn't stop me. I was the brains. Not him.
"We've known one another for..." With great flair I looked at my blank wrist, "... 50 minutes! Wow almost an hour! As for your last question, yes, probably. He almost forgot to close my window. A very rookie mistake."
Min chose then to stand up and tried to pull me up too. I reacted like a soggy piece of bread by which I mean I fainted without the unconscious bit. Min stumbled, not expecting this kind of resistance somehow, and let go of my arm in shock.
I flopped.
Ouch my dignity.
I stood up with hurt pride and face and stuck my hand out to the woman.
"Hi! My name is-"
A siren blared loudly from the tallest building, successfully interrupting me.
How rude.

Hehe, long time no see...
In my defense, I never claimed to have an update schedule.
Anyhoo, this chapter was suppose to be longer but I was too busy (read lazy) to write enough and I was starting to feel bad for not updating.
I have no idea how long this story is going to be but I'm working on other story ideas for when this is over. The style will not be the same in the other stories because I like to be 𝓊𝓃𝓅𝓇𝑒𝒹𝒾𝒸𝓉𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒.
Also! Hello to anyone who isn't someone I told to read the story! Thank you very much for reading :D
And to my friends who I've forced to read this, thank you as well. I'm trying to make it fun ヾ('▽`;)ゝ
