(Sherlock BBC) Mycroft's Runaway Assistant

Working again

It wasn't long before Mycroft found me and took me to his house. After a warm shower I slipped on a long t-shirt and pants.

"Thanks for the clothes." I said as I set on the couch.

"So Eric had you." Mycroft said as he set down.

"He said that he didn't kill my mother..... that the government was trying to hide it."

"That makes no since..... every file I've read says it was him."

"But he said my mother had secrets..... and that if it was him.... why didn't the government or you go looking for him?"

"It was a closed case.... I was told that he was in America."

"Mycroft.... what if he was telling the truth..... what if he didn't kill my mother?"

"Then I'll find out.... I'll have Sherlock and John work on it, and in my spare time I will as well... but I want you to forget about it.... I don't need you in anymore danger." He said softly.

"When you find out anything.... please tell me..... and no secrets.... I need to know the truth..... I have to know if my father did it."

"I promise.... I won't hide anything from you." He said as he squeezed my hand.

"Thank you.... I don't know what I would do without you." I said as I stood up.

"I'll drive you home." He said softly.

"It's actually really dark.... could I just stay here?"

"Of course." He said as he sent me a small smile.

We both soon went to bed and I let out a sigh as I rolled over on my side and grabbed my phone. I saw a text from a unknown number and set up.

Don't go looking for trouble.... I'd hate for you to end up like Jane.

I put my phone down and bit my lip as I rolled over and went to bed. The next morning Mycroft took me home and I changed for work.

"I'll see you around." Mycroft said softly.

"Do you still need an assistant?" I asked softly.

"I could always use one." He said as he turned to look at me.

"I'd like to go back to work for you..... I've already talked to Lily about it." I said softly.

"I'd love to have you back." He said as he sent me a smile.

"I'd love to be back."

It wasn't long before we pulled into the building and I set at my old desk. I smiled when I saw that everything was still in the place I left it. I quickly got to work and started to set everything up.

"Mycroft you have a meeting at 7." I said as I opened his door.

"Thank you." He said not looking up.

"You also have a meeting with Sherlock at 4.... something about a missing dog?"

"The queen's dog was missing. Called him to help. Message him and cancel... already found it. It was in the kitchen."

"Sure thing." I said as I turned and left his office.

"Oh and clear my schedule tomorrow, we are having dinner with a very important man." He said calmly.

"We?"

"You will be my date." He said as he sent me a smile.

"Yes sir." I said as I turned and walked out of his office.
