Mena's eyes locked with yours as the music slowly comes back making your ears pound.

You were kinda regretting kissing him, he probably didn't feel the same way and you basically poured your heart and soul into one simple kiss.

"I'm going home," Your voice hurt and drunk. Mena's jaw clenched in frustration, his hands on his hips as he takes a deep breath.

"Yeah, I'll take you." He replies back like a parent knowing he can't leave you alone.

"No, I'll take a cab." Your voice laced with sadness and boldness all in one.

"I am not going to let you go alone." Mena's voice deepening as he puffs out his chest making him more intimidating.

"I can take care of myself." Six words that completely took Mena by surprise making him backed out.

"Fine but if something happens to you, I will never forgive myself." His index finger pointing at you as you push it away from your face.

Feeling your ankles wobble through the careless people. LED lights all over the place making it worse to find the exit.

*at your house*

You lock the door behind you, feeling your body sweaty and disgusting. Liquor can bring out the worst of you yet you still love drinking it at parties and clubs, not an addiction, but something you do at most events.

The muscles of your chin trembling as Mena's face forming a thought in your mind. Your fingertips touching your lips remembering the kiss.

You felt like you were going to die, an immense chest pain along with a pounding headache.

You could hold the heartbreak no longer, your weak body falling to the floor in a disheveled heap as your grief poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears.

Gut-wrenching sobs that tore through your chest making you gasp for air.

The liquor wasn't helping and Naomi's grey texts weren't either. It felt like the whole world was scared of what you would do to yourself. The need for you to answer back to let them know you are okay but you really aren't.

Your nose sniffing as you wipe your tears away from your face, walking numbly to the bathroom, the counter of the heels hanging on your fingers.

You feel the cold zipper brush against your back. Your phone near the sink as you look at your reflection. You were a complete mess.

Mena: Y/n, I have to make sure, you went home safely.

Mena: Answer your phone, please.

Mena: Y/n, where are you?

Mena: Naomi and I are worried, call me back.

Mena: don't make me drive to your house.

Mena: Answer your phone, y/n!

Your phone vibrating with missed calls and unanswered texts from all of your friends.

Something in your system didn't care, didn't mind texting them back. It was the worst feeling, you felt completely numb like you were living but had no emotion. Just plain.

Your toes slipping into the shower feeling the streams of hot water soothe you down. Your eyes closed enjoying the warm feeling of the water and steam.

*skip shower*

Your wet body wrapped in a towel as the ends of your hair dropped small drops of water.

The living room wasn't empty, Mena and Naomi were sitting down.

You stopped and looked at Naomi's face, it was sad and afraid.

You turn to look at Mena's face, his dark chocolate eyes were red and tired, puffy from crying. A vein is prominent on his forehead as his eyes look deep into yours.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, Y/n?!" He yells at you as you feel the need to cry again.

"Mena." Naomi's voice is calm and gentle like a lullaby.

"I am sorry!" You shout out in a sob feeling the room grow tense.

"I thought I lost you." His voice breaking in front of you, there was too much sincerity for it to be fake.

"I'll leave you guys alone, I'll be outside," Naomi says realizing what's going on.

"I am sorry!" You repeated as Mena sighs, standing up from the couch and coming face to face with you.

His presence the same distance as before. The same distance for a kiss.

You feel his arms wrap around your waist pulling you closer to him.

"God, y/n, you do things to me." The tone in his voice was just heart-melting.

Mena and you had spent a lot of time looking at each other and talking every now and then. Maybe he was right, you have been doing things to him without realizing. You both have been feeling attracted to each other without noticing, well you had, but you thought Mena didn't.

"Like make you mad." You reply to him as he presses his lips against your cheek, feeling a tint of rose filled your cheeks.

"I was scared. I was nervous." He tells you.

"I was scared you didn't mean the kiss since you were drunk, I was nervous that you were in danger because of me." He responds back making you feel guilty and embarrassed.

"Did you mean the kiss?" Mena leaning a bit closer, so close you could smell his minty cool breath on your chin.

You bit your lower lip.
