-that night-
"Hey buddy, please go to sleep...it's 3am" she sighs and she's trying to calm Will down
"sh, sh, sh, it's okay Will, everything is okay, I promise." She walks around the room rocking Will in her arms "mommy?" Jonathan walks in the room to Joyce "hey Jonathan." "Is the baby sad?" Asked Jonathan "no, ya know, he's just...a baby, babies cry all the time." "Oh. Sorry his crying woke me up."he looks at Joyce "It's fine Jonathan, I understand. Why don't you come on up in bed and lay next to me?" "Okay mommy" Joyce lays Will back down and sits in the bed and wraps her arm around Jonathan. They both fall asleep.
-the next morning-
There's a knock on the door that wakes Joyce up "coming." she called she answers the door and there stands the Chief "Good morning, Joyce."the Chief smiled "Oh, hey, good morning, Hop" Joyce sighs "hey? What's the matter?" "It's nothing Hop...I'm just tired, that's all." "You sure thats all?" Asked Hopper "Yeah, i'm sure" reassured Joyce "okay, well. Is there anything you need help with?" Asked Hopper "oh, shit! What day is it?" Asked Joyce "Monday" "oh, my god. it's 9:00am! Jonathan needs to get up! School started an hour ago!" She runs into her room where Jonathan slept the night before "hey buddy, get up, we need to go to school. get up." As shes clapping her hands softly to wake him up.
He gets up fast and runs to his room to get dressed
"I'm such a mess Hop, I didn't even get him up in time for school. That's never happened before..." "Joyce, listen to me, your doing a great job by yourself. so please, stop talking down about your self." "It's not as easy as it looks being a single mother, Hopper." "I never said it was easy, I bet it is hard, but your doing a great job. I know you can do it." Hopper smiled "thanks Hop..." Joyce smiled a little "I'm ready mom" Jonathan Said as he's coming out of his room "okay bud." "Joyce, stay here with Will, let me take him to school, okay?" He said "Hopper..." "I'm serious Joyce, let me okay? You just go get some more sleep before Will wakes up." "Okay...thank you." Joyce smiles a bit "your welcome"
He takes Jonathan to school then Joyce lays back down and goes to sleep
