Chapter Two...

This time when I woke up, it was at my normal wake up time not due to an unwanted disturbance.

I opened my eyes to stare at the sky at dawn, the air was cool and fresh, the clouds were clear and light arranged the blue sky rimmed with orange. It was beautiful and exhilarating, I woke up to this everyday but it still got to me every time. I would wake up and watch the sky from dawn to sunrise, in calm serenity. I'd like to believe that the animals respected this interval too because they are quiet until the sun starts to rise properly.

When the animals start making noise I am shaken out of my trance, I get up and stretch. I try to focus to get water from under the ground for me to get cleaned up.

I finally hear that familiar buzz under the soil, I channel my energy to pulling the water out in a fine, silent stream. I let it splash on my face and some parts of my body. After I felt that I was clean enough I let the stream of water go. I heat my hands up and warm up my clothes. Use my hands to comb through my hair.

I'm quite hungry but I'll wait until midday to eat so I don't get stitches as I get around from place to place.

I need to move south from here, if I move to a place safe enough I could stay there for at most a week. I pulled out myself drafted map( been drafting it for the past twelve years). The map had a lot of notes all around it, notes on best places to go through at specific times of the year, places to avoid. Places of civilization or work sector areas that I MUST never be seen at.

I reach out to the branches of a nearby tree with my mind and produced vines which I used to climb and maneuver my way through the trees as silently as I could, in an attempt to stay hidden and shade from the sun.

A lot of tree branch jumping, escaping from animals, battling hunger and staying hidden later, it was finally midday plus I had found the perfect place to stop and stay for the next few days, I was ecstatic. It was a cave well hidden by the leaves of the trees, it had a load of edible berries around it and there was a small stream, big enough to bath in and it was clean enough to drink. Everything about the place was so well placed and well hidden.

I quickly hide my tiny bag, basically just a pouch, in the already hidden cave. I strip and basically run into the stream, I scrub every inch of my body and hair and splash around for some time.

After my bath, I wash my clothes with water fro the stream and change into my spare shirt. I take a well deserved and sought after nap.

When I wake up it's about time for sunset so I sit and watch the sunset and twilight, they are so beautiful. When darkness had begun to envelope the sky after twilight, I make a fire at the mouth of the cave with some dry wood I found. I have a dinner of squirrel and wild berries.

It hurt me to eat the squirrel though, because for some reason I can communicate with animals and its hurts when I have to kill them. But this one was particularly ready to be killed and eaten just because I was hungry. I was touched but also baffled but oh well thee berries were nice goddamn. 'Ahhhh I need more of this,' I thought.

After several minutes of thinking and looking up at the sky, I was falling asleep.

But, right as I was about to succumb to my nocturnal desires, something whispered to me,"Hey missy."

I jumped.

I look around and find a chubby looking young raccoon, one paw (the left one) was limp. "Oh, hey." I said looking  right at it. "What do you want?"

"Ummm I think its kinda obvious but please could you help me fix my paw, its broken." He said. "The name's Balee by the way."

"Okay Balee, I'll help you if you promise to not make too mush noise as I fix your paw."

"I solenmly swear."

"Okay then, paw please," I say with my hand outstretched, he obediently put his paw on my hand. I put my other hand on his paw, closed my eyes and tried imagining the damage and fixing it, bone splinter after the other.

The pieces cracked into place, "How does that feel? It's still gonna be sore when you try to move it but only for a day or two. Try not to over stress it though. Good job on not shouting." I said smiling. "By the way how did you know I could fix it?"

"Just took a good guess. What's your name anyway?"

"Romilda."

"Okay, so thanks Romilda, good night."

"Good night Balee."
