"Are you coming or not?"
Pang-ilang ulit na itong tinanong ng mga kaibigan ko simula pa lang no'ng nasa MOA kami. The basketball team will be having an after party mamayang 8:00pm sa bahay nila Dani.
"For goodness sake Mads, hindi ko na mabilang kung pang ilan ko nang narinig yang tanong na yan. Why do you always ask me ba? Why does it matter in the first place kung pupunta ako o hindi?"
"Chill ka lang Bei, I'm just asking. You see, we kept on asking because you never gave us an answer. 'Maybe', 'I don't know', what kind of answers are those? And yes it matter because hello, the whole team is there. They're your friends. What will they think if di ka pumunta?" She said while looking for clothes in her cabinet.
It is almost 8 in the evening and all of my teammates are preparing to attend the after party. Well some of them nga, nandun na eh.
"Well I can make excuses naman diba? I mean, they will understand my reasons." I said to defend myself.
Napaharap si Maddie sa'kin at bumuntung-hininga.
"Ito na naman tayo, Bei? For goodness sake, can you at least remove from your thoughts na hindi ka pupunta dun for the same reason why you did not came the last time. Be there for your friends. And besides, you're not going there to see Thirdy alone, you're presence can make the team feel your support. Simple as that. Big deal ba yun?"
Napasimangot ako sa sinabi niya.
"But Mads, that's not my point. What if pag pumunta ako dun tas ako lang din pala ang dahilan for the atmosphere to change from being happy to awkward real quick? I don't care if Thirdy is there or not, but what if si Thirdy mismo ang ayaw na nandun ako? Ayokong masira ang gabi nilang lahat Mads. So it's better for me to stay here nalang." Sabi ko sabay higa sa kama.
Tiningnan ako ng masama ni Maddie.
"Okay fine. Bahala ka na. If you don't want to come, then I'll let you. It's almost 8 and kailangan ko nang pumunta dun. Susunduin ko pa si Kim. Bihis lang ako." She said before going to the bathroom and changed.
Few minutes after, I still find myself lying in the bed. Well to be honest aside from my reason earlier, I really feel tired and sobrang tinatamad ako ngayon. I don't have the mood to go for parties tonight.
Maddie came out from the bathroom and looked dashing in her clothes. She really knows how to style herself and she got that fashion sense in her.
She grabbed her bag and phone and went to the door instantly.
"Bei, I'll be going. But if you change your mind, inform me para ipasusundo kita mamaya if ever pupunta ka."
"I think it's not gonna happen. But yeah, of course I'll inform you. Have fun sa after party. I-congratulate mo ako sa team ha." Pahabol ko sa kanya.
I got up from the bed and got my laptop. I decided to finish my report for my sub. Kesa naman lamunin ako ng katamaran ko buong gabi.
I was busy typing on the keyboard when my phone suddenly rang.
"Hello, what's up Ice?"
" 'Di ka pupunta?" He asked me directly.
"How did you know?"
"I know you Bei. Kaya magbihis ka. I'll be there in 15 minutes."
Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya. Bakit siya pupunta dito?
"Wait, why are you coming?" Tanong ko sa kanya.
"I'll take you to the party." Sabi niya sabay baba sa phone. He did not even gave me a chance to defend myself.
