I Fell In Love With The Devil(ON HOLD)

Chapter 5

Jinx's P.O.V.

    I walked slowly downstairs, already knowing what was coming, and sighed, as I saw my father, fuming with anger. "What'd I do now, Dad?" He shouted,"YOU KNOW WHAT!!" I flinched a bit, and muttered,"Carter is the fucking idiot who told Ivy about us, and bit her. He stole my food." Dad sighed, and said,"Jinx..I don't even know why you wanted that girl in the first place. She's sick..I mean physically sick. I don't know exactly what her illness is, but feeding on her would only be a mercy killing or stupidity at this point." I swear my jaw dropped about a foot, and whispered,"She's sick??" My dad nodded, and shrugged, going to his room upstairs. My thoughts ran fast, as I slowly put the pieces together. Ivy missing her classes, looking so fucking fragile, going to the bathroom a lot, and saying she had bad blood. "She's sick..Oh, fuck. I fucking dragged a sick girl here and tried to eat her. And Carter bit her and told her about us. Christ, I've made a bloody mess of things. I have to make sure she's not gonna tell anyone about us. If she does, it'll be a damn witch hunt. We'll be slaughtered." I pulled my jacket and boots on, and ran outside, smelling her blood. I knelt on the ground, and my enhanced sight showed me tiny droplets of blood , forming a trail that would hopefully lead me right to Ivy. My heart pounded in my chest, as I cautiously followed the trail down the street, and into an alleyway that almost no one ever went in, mostly because that's where I liked to hunt. I stopped, faintly hearing rapid, shaky breathing, and small sobs. I slowly walked towards the sound, and froze, as I saw Ivy, curled up behind a dumpster, her neck still bleeding, and her whole body shaking.

      I whispered,"Ivy? Hey.." Her body instantly tensed up, and her heart sped up dangerously. I watched her slowly turn her head to face me, and my heart fell. Her eyes were red and puffy, and her skin looked paler than usual."Ivy..I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for what Carter did to you." She whispered in a cold, empty voice,"It was true. You don't like me at all. I'm just fucking food to you; a hunting game." I looked at the ground, running a hand through my hair, and said,"I didn't know you were sick, I swear. I would have never ever tried to feed on you if I had fucking known." She flinched, and glared at me, wiping her eyes. "Thanks..So not only can I not do certain normal things, now I'm not even good enough to eat. Figures..Story of my fucking life right there." I slowly felt worse as I could see the pain hiding in her eyes. I had hurt her badly, and for some reason I hated that. I stood there, and realised she was shivering. "Here..Can't let you get even more sick." I peeled off my jacket, and handed it to her. I was surprised as she took it, wrapping it around herself. "Thanks..I left mine at school." I kneeled down beside her, and blinked, as her head slowly rested on my shoulder...

Ivy's P.O.V.

      I rested my head on Jinx's shoulder, her jacket warming me up slowly, and whispered,"I know you didn't come looking for me to tell me you're sorry. So..What the hell do you want?" I was too exhausted to put anger behind my words, and she sighed. "I need you to promise that you won't tell anyone about my coven. If you do, we'll be hunted and killed like wild animals." The thought of anyone hurting Jinx made my heart ache, and I whispered,"I promise I won't tell anyone. It's not like I have anyone to tell, anyway." I felt her slender fingers gently touch the bite on my neck, and flinched. "You're still bleeding, love. And you're exhausted." At that, my eyes closed, and I felt her pick me up. "I'm sorry..I don't know why I feel like this, but I don't want anything to happen to you. I'll fix you up. Just rest." I figured I was.dreaming, and started falling asleep, hearing a male voice whisper,"You must be joking, Kathryn." Jinx whispered back,"Dad..She's hurt and tired. It's just one night." I missed what he said back, but didn't care, as I was gently set on a bed, and quick fingers changed me into shorts and a tee, and blankets were pulled over me. I opened my eyes, wincing, as a warm rag dabbed against my throat, and saw Jinx put a bandage over the bite wound, her face filled with worry and anger. "Jinx?" Her eyes locked with mine, and she looked down."You're safe here. I should have asked first, but you looked so tired and sick."

       I blinked, and shook a little, my hand finding hers, and whispered,"It's fine..Thank you for going to all this trouble." She smiled a tiny half smile, and I saw a flash of fangs. I blinked, and sighed. "I'm sorry..My blood is driving you crazy, isn't it?" She shrugged, and said,"I can handle it. It's not too bad, and..I can't really feed on you. It could kill you." I wanted to tell her that I would die soon anyway, but decided against it, instead whispering,"We can still be friends, right? I know you just said that to feed on me, but..I honestly would like being friends with you." She looked both surprised and scared, and replied,"I'm not supposed to get that close to humans, and it could put you in danger if anyone ever found out. But..I would like being your friend. God knows I need a non vampire one. Alexis, my best friend, is always feeding on some boy or something..It would be nice to fucking just hang out for once, and do normal things." I smiled, and whispered,"Awesome..I have a vampire best friend. I feel like a badass." I coughed hard, and I watched alarm shoot through her eyes, and then it was gone. She whispered,"Sleep now, Ivy..You need it. I'll watch over you tonight." I closed my eyes, and slowly drifted off, falling more in love with Jinx, even though I knew I was falling in love with the devil, and she could easily be tricking me again. Somehow, I felt like she wasn't, though. I sank into darkness, my dreams filled with Jinx, and my nightmares full of blood, fangs, and death..
