yo
so i've gotten back into watching unpopular kpop opinion videos on youtube and i felt like sharing some of my own again lmao it's been a while since my last one and a lot has happened in the kpop industry since then
(yg i'm lookin @ u)
it's so annoying bc in the videos they say quite common opinions that actually a majority of people share. i'm like, clickbait much ?? but i digress
remember that these are just my opinions that don't actually matter, they are not facts that apply to anyone else and i'm not forcing my opinions on anyone. it's also not my intention to bash any individual or group, but some of my opinions are rather blunt so 🤷🏽♀️ these opinions are probably more controversial than my last ones oops
let's dive in
cube needs to invest less time in (g)i-dle and more time in clc
i'm not gonna sit here and say that (g)i-dle didn't earn their way to where they are today, but i think it's kind of messed how cube put their all into promoting their rookie group while clc just had to sit there and watch, waiting to have a comeback. clc's fanbase and popularity are never going to grow if they're always second in line. cube also did them dirty because clc should've stuck with a girl crush concept after hobgoblin, but they didn't. clc's talent is not being used to their full potential and even thought they had two lit comebacks this year, (g)i-dle debuted l i t e r a l l y last year and already had hann, señorita, and uh-oh.blackpink should hold off on solo releases
dont get me wrong, i loved jennie's solo and will support rosé's and the other members' solo projects with my whole being, but seeing as blackpink hasn't even released a full-length album yet... people are going to start losing interest in them if yg doesn't get their shit together. and this isn't the girls' faults at all, it's yg. blackpink released ddu-du ddu-du in june of 2018 and promoted that for literal ages, while jennie came out with solo in november and promoted through the winter. it took yg until april of 2019 to release kill this love, and who knows when the actual scheduled comeback date was for it because we all know they rushed it to cover up their scandals. i love all 4 of the members of blackpink and want so much more for them and their talent, because they are so so talented. they need to really promote and release content as a group before breaking off on separate projects.entertainment agencies should lift dating bans or get rid of them all together
idols are pEoPlE and people need to get that into their heads. i would literally not give any shits if the groups i stan were to be in relationships. do fans really think that, if their ults aren't in relationships, they have a chance ?? like, y'all really out here across the world speaking a whole ass different language with completely separate cultures and lifestyles, gettin upset that ya oppar breathed in the direction of a girl. c h i l l. i think it's insane how companies ban their idols from dating just so that they seem more available to fans, and therefore will have a larger fanbase. y'all really stan a group bc they're single, and would drop them if they weren't?? some type of fan you are, then. how are idols supposed to find significant others they can settle down with and start families if they're banned from being a person and having relationships? it's like a basic human right they're being denied. i would love to see the groups i stan be in committed relationships where they are cherished and appreciated for who they are as a person rather than a celebrity. i get that an idol's focus should be on their music, but really, how distracting could a relationship be? and i get that there's the worry that someone could just be in it for the publicity and the money and all that, but what if they weren't? we'd be denying them of a unique type of happiness all so that we could fuel our fantasies. fantasies.txt is probably not gonna be very successful
idk i'm just not really digging their stuff. their concept was kind of refreshing i guess, but i could only listen to crown so many times before i was over it. blue orangeade is for sure a slept on song, but i don't even like cat & dog. hitting the woah was quirky, ig, but mostly cringey. i get their choreographer probably wanted to incorporate some mainstream moves, but even the song itself i'm not a huge fan of. i think most of their popularity is due to bts, and sadly their career is going to continue to be compared to bts', and that's not their fault at all. it's ours. big hit can try to replicate the bts formula for txt, but i don't think it's going to work the same. i'm not saying they aren't talented, bc they really are, but they still have much growth to undergo before that can really succeed. especially with rapping. and i don't think there's a way for them to really be the 'next bts', if that's what people are expecting from them, bc they don't produce their own stuff or work the same way bts does.i wish b.i could've stayed with ikon
yg didn't really invest in ikon the way they should've and it's so sad that they're probably going to end up disbanding all because of something b.i did before they could truly succeed. and honestly, to me, it didn't seem like that big of a deal. so what if he wanted some weed ?? i don't get why it's such a drastic thing. plus it was 3 years ago. i mean, that's comin from my western-usa ass but like, you're gonna destroy his career and that of the 6 other ikon members all because he just wanted a little smoke? and in no way am i trying to promote drug use here, all i'm saying is that there are worse things he could've done *cough*seungri..*cough* b.i didn't even end up going through with the damn purchase, and look what happened. like look at all the celebrities with thriving careers that publicly do drugs and even make songs about it. i get that it's against his contract, and yes, he should've been punished, but ikon was on their way to rising fame and putting out some really quality songs. i'm just sad.has no one compared 3racha's runner's high to (g)i-dle's $$$ ????
this shit sound THE SAMEEEE. and 3racha's song came out first so like ... tea? idk if the song was properly sampled and i should probably do some research, but like, i haven't seen anything on the internet about the similarity between the two at all and it baffles me. this is some queen-vanilla ice type shit istg. am i literally the only person who's heard both the songs?y'all need to chill about blackpink choreographies
people are really out here scrutinizing the tiniest things about their dances and comparing such trivial parts to their moves to make their choreos out as being 'the same'. that their choreography is 'too easy'. have you seen whistle? that shit ain't easy. and you're gonna sit here and tell me that playing with fire and forever young look the same? really? sure, they could have more complex dance moves, but like, why? what's even the point of that? their choreographies look good, blend them together as a group, all the members can perform them, and the fans can dance along with them. what's the shame in that? we all know they dance, and they have more complex choreographies to prove that, so hop off their dicks about one or two dances being 'too simple'. they certainly don't look the same, and i personally didn't think ddu-du ddu-du looked awkward or bad. i enjoyed it. it's not like other groups don't have easy dances, take likey by twice, ice cream cake by red velvet, or hann by (g)i-dlesorry i lowkey went off hahaaa it's late and i straight up dug through my mind and typed this all in one sitting. or lying down, i should say, since i'm finna sleep in 3 seconds. hope y'all are quenched because of the tea i spilled, have a good night or day wherever in the world you may be <3
