Lucy Heartfilia

About three days later, finally, finally Master woke up. Everyone in the guild was worried, but in the quiet of the guild hall, watching the older man hobble out of the infirmary with Wendy and Porlyusca at his side, all their worries washed away. He wasn't as sickly green or pale looking as he did in Alvarez, and even though his movements seemed sluggish and strained, the old man still smiled brightly. This guy has not only fought multiple powerhouse mages, but he even grappled with the likes of Acnologia himself and even just now survived one of Zeref's death spells! How Master isn't dead is a wonder to her, but Lucy wouldn't have it any other way.

Not even a second later, the mugs of booze went sky high and everyone around the guild chanted, "WELCOME BACK, MASTER!"

And then, it was as if nothing changed at all. People sat around at their tables, laughing and cheering with heaping mugs of booze in their hands. They talked about the things they did over the last year, how strong they've gotten and even what guilds they joined. Across the guild hall, a fight broke out that eventually dragged in a quarter of everyone in the guild! Lucy watched them all happily with Cana and the exceeds at her side, along with Wendy, Master, Gray, Erza and Gajeel, who sat along with them at their table.

"Hey, so I got a question," Lucy heard Bixlow ask Freed. "If Erza's our master now, what are we supposed to call him?"

"I suppose Mister Makarov?" he offered, and Evergreen scoffed.

"No way, that sounds too ridiculous!" she laughed.

Erza turned in their direction and rested her fork down gently on her strawberry cake plate. "Just call him Master. I'll be stepping down from my position," Erza told them.

Master, who was in the middle of hugging Auscka, turned to Erza with wide eyes. "No, no, please don't--" he started, but it was too late.

"Wait, so he's going to be our eighth guild master?" someone asked.

"Really? But isn't this his third time around? Why does he keep getting revived like that?" another said.

"Hey, it's not like anyone killed him or anything."

Master's eyebrows twitched in annoyance before he finally let out a heavy sigh. "The way things are going now I'll be master until I die," he said with a sigh, and Elfman cackled from a few tables over.

"Now that's a man's dedication!" he shouted at the old man.

Gray took another sip of booze before turning his attention to Freed. "You guys joined Blue Pegasus, huh? I'm surprised that you all would go to such a weird place," Gray told him, and Freed let out a light scoff as a smile played at his lips.

"There are worst jobs than serving customers," Freed told him simply.

"Yeah, but it won't ever beat a place like this," Bixlow added on.

Juvia strolled over to Evergreen's side with two shot glasses and offered her one. "I wonder, how was Blue Pegasus? Did Laxus even do any of the hospitality trends?" Juvia asked her.

Evergreen smiled wickedly. "He did once in a while, but when he did, it wasn't exactly... hospitable," Evergreen said with a snicker. Laxus shot her a pointed look.

"What happens in that guild stays in that guild," he said simply, but that didn't stop Evergreen from snickering and Juvia to become strangely redfaced.

Gajeel's hand landed heavily on Wendy's head and he ruffled up the girl's hair with a grin. "Oi, Wendy! I heard you finally caught on to the motion sickness gig! Welcome to the party," Gajeel sneered down at her, and Wendy shuddered in fright.
