It was a warm night, so warm that I didn't need to rug up like I have most nights. But the cold weather didn't stop me from being outside at night. I quite liked it, feeling the cool air brush against my skin.
I wouldn't want to miss seeing the bright lights of the sleepless city, shining, so pretty.

I was sitting on a park bench.
Relaxing, just looking up at the stars like I usually did. It was quiet, unusual for a night like that.
There was no one to be seen, just me.
But it didn't bother me at all, I liked being alone.

I closed my eyes, taking slow and steady breaths, in and out. Once I opened my eyes again, I could see a man sitting on the other bench next to me. He must've sat down while I wasn't looking.

I took a glance at the man.
He had black boots,
a black coat and black jeans.

He didn't look at me, not once.
But when I turned back around,
I could feel his eyes burning into me.

The third time it happened, I caught him.
He turned his head to me, he just stared,
straight at me. I couldn't see him properly, his sunglasses were covering his eyes. It didn't make sense, why he was wearing them at night.

My eyes were wide with curiosity, I wanted to know more about him.

He had long, brown hair, it just touched his shoulders. From what I could see, he was beautiful.
He just seemed like a mystery, but I guess that's what made him more enticing to me.

I desperately wanted him to take off his glasses, to see what he really looked like.
But he didn't.
He looked back down and lifted his right arm, looking at his watch.
He breathed out, looking somewhat frustrated.

I looked at my phone to check the time, it was 9:00.
Much later than I expected, the time flew by so fast.
I walked down the footpath, wrapping my arms around myself, trying to keep as warm as possible.

The nagging feeling of being followed started creeping in when I heard small footsteps behind me. Without looking back, I walked a little faster, hoping it would go away. The footsteps only got louder and faster, soon I was running. I didn't even know what from, but I was scared.

I looked back as the man from before was the one chasing me, "Stop" he said. "I'm only trying to protect you."

I was confused. "Who are you?" I asked.

"You don't need to know that, but what you must know, is that I'm only here to protect you. Listen to me and everything will be alright." He extended his arm out to me, hoping I would take it. But I backed away, not knowing how to feel about what he'd just said.

"Protect me from what?" I asked.

"I can't answer all of your questions right now. You must come with me."

This frustrated me, why couldn't he just tell me who he was. He reached out for me again, only this time I didn't back away. Once the tip of his finger touched my arm, I felt different. This sense of calmness, power. I-I don't know how to describe it but, it was just beautiful.

I gasped, looking up at him as he looked down at me. My hand instinctively reached for his glasses but he was too quick, his hand stopped mine.

"You can't." He said.

"Why not?"

"Not here, not yet."

"What's your name?"

He looked away, not wanting to answer my question.

"This is too confusing for me. How am I supposed to trust you if I don't even know your name?"
