Naruto: the outcast

Forgetting the fact that he was the son of richest man in the world and had knowledge of future, he would be Menma Hatake. A boy who was literally nobody. He had no background information, his real identity was hidden. He was a penniless boy.

Naruto had arrived at the collage rather early. His simple shirt and pants were neither flashy not bleak. They looked fine, it was comfortable. He stood quietly against the three at the centre of the ground. He was observing.

First arrived Shikamaru Nara, he was the young lord of Nara family.
With his chauffer fumbling around he let out a bored sigh. Nara's were known for being lazy but intelligent.

Apparently he was graduated highschool from the same University's highschool division because he seem friendly with many of the students walking around. He also recognized Kiba Inuzuka and many more.

But he did not move. He was careful. There were very few who knew the real him. Bit there were some none the less.

"Hinata?!" Sakura whined. She was complaining about the three female escort who were walking around Hinata. They were all dressed in Body suits which meant they were from military. 

"What happened Sakura?"  Thought Hinata rarely went out of Kyoto or the Hyuga compound itself but still she was not a no body. She had the beat grades of all girls in Japan for nothing. She was a academy, athletic and arts all rounder. She had quite a few ladies as her friends. Sakura being the daughter of the Minister of public affairs for Japan, had a close relation with her. Ino Yamanaka, Tenten Yugito and Lucy Heartfilia were all daughters of equally prominent figures.

"What are these ladies following you so closely, can't they keep some distance. Tell them to stay at least a bit far, it's making you look unapproachable." She whispered.

Hinata looked back at the ladies, she did not even know their names. The house keeper that was supposed to come the day before did not come and the big brother was transferred, she was having a headache. 

"Who else are attending the University?" Lucy asked.  She was. a blonde girl, her beauty could rival Hinata's.

Hinata looked at Lucy. "I heard Kiba and Shino were attending here too." She announced. "What about your Fiance?" Asked she.

Lucy blushed. She was engaged. Though the age looked too early but the family she was supposed to go to was a long standing business partner.
They were Dargneel, the only family that had a direct business and familial relation with the Namikaze. They were not as rich but they were richer then any others. They were the third richest family, right after Namikaze and Uzumaki. Their income was not astronomical like the previous two but they were very established. After all Dragneel were one of the three prominent families to have established a headquarter in moon.

But, Lucy being married had nothing to do with the business prospects of Heartfilia and Dragneel. The two young Lord and lady of the families were famous and the childhood sweethearts.

Natsu Dragneel, she loved him.

"Natsu was bothered about his cousin, he said the said person suddenly disappeared without trace. He will probably not come." Said she.

"Disappeared? Who disappears from the moon, don't they have the satellite tracking like on earth?" Asked Ino, she was a walking beside Lucy.

"He was talking about the son of Lord Minato, the young lord of Namikaze." Lucy said dejectedly. "I mean I have met him a few times and he does maintain a low key personality but to suddenly disappear. I haven't seen Natsu this worried."

Hinata was confused. "He ran from moon?"

"Not ran! Its just Natsu and Na... Young lord are really close."

The girls gulped.  "You know the name of young Lord. Tell us. Tell us.". Tenten immediately caught up.

Lucy paled. "Ah, guys better if you don't know." She said. She was scared. It was a super secret. Only Natsu, his parents, his big brother and Naruto's relatives knew of his real name. He often introduced himself as Menma. Whenever she was with Naruto and her while hanging out, he would tell her that being him was not as amazing as most thought.

She sighed. The girls party was pestering her for the young lords name and she groaned as she looked to the ground of the University. Mist of the boys were staring at her or Hinata. They were quite famous after all.

"Hey isn't they the lady of Heartfilia? Damn that black haired one is the young  lady of Hyuga. They are attending this university? our luck.."

"Doesn't Lucy have a fiancee? I heard he was a prominent figure on moon.  Her fiancee is related to the Namikaze. You don't even stand a chance",

"Just look at the group. All better then the other."

But that was not at all a shock to Lucy. Because against the tree was leaning a blonde with three whisker marks, with blue eyes, he was staring at her.

Naruto is here?

As soon as their eyes met, Naruto walked towards her.

"Who is that fool? He is approaching Lucy. He is going to see what disappointment means. I heard Lucy and her fiancee were childhood sweethearts. Natsu Dragneel, that'd what his name is."

"He doesn't know his place." Whispered people but Lucy could see a secret smile on his face.

"Hey lu." Naruto hugged her. "Damn, my luck. Here I was thinking no one would know me. Is the hot head here?" Asked Naruto.

The entire ground full of students fell silent. Even Sakura, Ino, Tenten and Hinata froze. Hinata knew Naruto and Lucy were acquainted but to be this close.

"Hey, Menma?" Lucy was confused. Was he still hiding his identity.

"Yup." He grinned. "Where is the cotton candy?" Asked he. Every boy in the ground was grinding their teeth.
They'd were afraid of even approaching the girls and there he was, who was he? A nobody. Bear hugging the goddess.

"He is searching for you."she whispered.

"I will call him down here. He needs to help me." He said as he pulled away from the hug. "Oh, you seem acquainted with my neighbour." He looked at Hinata. "Good morning, ladies. Hinata." He nodded.

Lucy and Ino were flinching.
"Neighbour?"

"She lived downstairs." He smiled.

The girls blushed.  "But didn't Hinata lived on the top of Five Mile tower?"
The girl whispered.

Everyone who was trying to eavesdrop was now fuming because they were whispering.

"He lives in the top floor girls, I live in the second to top." Hinata confessed.

"Are you somehow related to Namikaze? Are you a Namikaze? No way, are you the young lord?" Tenten was gasping.

"I am Menma Hatake, not some Namikaze. Not everyone is that lucky you see." He smiled.

The girls continued to bombard him with questions.

"You do not seem surprised." Asked Lucy.

"I know his real name, like real real name." Hinata said to Lucy in a whisper. "He told me himself."

Lucy narrowed her eyes. "What did he tell you?"

"He is Naruto Namikaze."

Lucy yelped. "He told you his name, himself." She asked. Even she had to beg Natsu and give him a few treats and then he told her.

Hinata nodded.

"Oh." Lucy nodded. She was about to ask Naruto what gives but the a very familiar sound greeted them.

"Who might he be?"

Naruto looked back. His eyed immediately sharpened and bloodlust rose around him. He smiled at the girls and turned to the boy.
"Sasuke Uchiha. A pleasure seeing you."
