Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida

A group of 50 young people were waiting in line for their fate in the courtyard of the school. One of them was very particular : it was because said student was actually a young girl. Her name : Sasha Grady. She enlisted at age 17 in the US Navy to follow the footsteps of her grandfather Earl, who had served in Vietnam, and her father Owen, who fought in Afghanistan.

As everyone was waiting a voice suddenly yelled "Attention hut !!!". Everybody, including Sasha stood straight before two military men, an African-American one and a Caucasian one came into view. "At ease !" the Caucasian instructor yelled. Then the African-American military said "At the call of your name, step forward !".

One by one, the candidates stepped forward then got back to their place as their names were called out. "Anson, accepted. Bracket, rejected get your pack. Chaplin, accepted. Coleman, rejected. Collins, rejected. Daniels, rejected. Dunning, accepted. Elison, rejected. Erikson, rejected. Friedenhall, rejected. Fritzler, rejected. Grady, accepted. Hadley, rejected. Hemlock, rejected.". Out of the 50 candidates, only 10, among whom Sasha was were accepted as EOD, while the others were reassigned as Naval crews or Seabees.

After being participating a congratulation meal, Sasha phoned a man named Owen on her phone. "Dad ?", "Yeah, is that you Sasha ?", "I'm now an EOD !". Her father couldn't believe it : his daughter is now an EOD expert ! Owen couldn't have been prouder of his daughter.
