Chapter 10: Leo's perspective

I was laying on the hardwood floor, my eyes closed and my ears wary of every little sound. I didn't know where I was and didn't understand why I couldn't move my hands and feet. I couldn't open my mouth either, seeing as there was something keeping me from doing so.

I was a bit scared, scared of actually opening my eyes and seeing something I didn't wanna see. Don't be stupid Leo! If there's anything out there it outta be scared of you!

With that I opened my eyes slowly, quickly closing them as the a bright light flashed into them. I opened them again as my eyes finally adjusted to the light that was only coming from a small window high in the ceiling.

The room seemed to be old, being made out of cobblestone and drafts hitting me in every direction. There were cobble webs all in the corners of the jail, at least that's what I presumed it was. I tried flipping myself over, but soon gave up as I realized someone must've drugged me to where I can't move my lower body. Staying still I continued to look out the window, noticing that about every 5 minutes a shadow would pass by it, not wasting  any second to continue standing there.

I sighed heavily and closed my eyes again, I knew sleep wouldn't come easy, but it was better than waiting on my death sentence to come.

Ares perspective:

I looked at the floor as Castien paced the room, his shiny expensive shoes clicking as he continued to walk back and forth. I wanted to tell him to stop walking and just sit down but I was in enough trouble as it is, no point in digging my hole any deeper.

"James you do know how much trouble you have caused me from being with that boy, hm?"

I didn't answer as it was a rhetorical question. He continued to pace but I continued to look at the floor , ashamed that I allowed Leo to see me in that state. If I hadn't let my guard down he wouldn't have mated me and we wouldn't be in this situation. I was glad to have found my mate but I was never planning on mating with Leo, but he just had to be stubborn and go ahead and do it.

The place where he had bit me had disappeared a while ago, although I still felt quite connected to him, we didn't get to mate the right way.

"James...James...James are you listening to me?"

My head snapped up to look at Castien, who I guess was saying something while I was still in my thoughts.

"You say something?"

He simply groaned and finally sat down in one of the dining chairs in the room, his hand pinching the bridge of his nose. He was definitely pissed at me, I mean I would be too, what would you do if your mate found out that you were somewhat related to the almighty king himself Castien? Be pissed as all hell that's what.

He sighed heavily and looked at me with his white eyes. No pupil at all, just white. It used to creep me out but it no longer does when you stare into his eyes 24/7. They showed no emotion, although sometimes they turned silver whenever he was excited. That's the only emotion I've ever seen in him.

Clasping his hands together, he snapped his fingers twice and a butler came in with a cart covered with a sheet.

"Your beloved mate has caused an uprise with the elders, they are not happy with him seeing your coat, and of course they said that his memory be erased, but giving that he is your mate, they've given you an ultimatum."

I leaned forward in my chair, setting my chin on top of my hands, finally getting into the conversation.

"Intrigue me dear king."

He simply smiled and nodded, waving his hand at the butler.

The butler moved the court to the center of the room, putting it between us. I was confused as to why they cart was covered with a sheet since it looked like a regular food cart, but Castien did always like to do outrageous things for such simple occasions.

With a snap of his hand, the sheet came off the cart and low and behold my delicious mate, sleeping soundly in wolf form in the cart.

"What is this Castien?"

I could see the silver in his eyes, showing that he was excited but I was not. I was on the edge of my seat, wondering how in gods name Leo ended up here.

I stood slowly, staring at him with bloody red eyes, ready to charge if he did something to him.

"Castien, what is this?"

My nose flared in anger as he continued to stare at me with excitement.

He waved the butler away and he scurried away, leaving us two be. I set a foot forward and glared at him harder. He simply laughed, standing up as well going to the cage, slowly stroking the gold printing on it.

"My dear James...this is your ultimatum"
