As some of you may tell, this story is somewhat heavily inspired by BioShock Infinite. But some characters, like Matilde, was created by me before the game came out. I just revamped her multiple times and she was under a different name. My story has no ties, whatsoever, to the amazing video game story at all. I give my thanks to the developers of Irrational Games for creating this masterpiece of a game, which helped inspired me to write this story. Thank you! And many thanks to my screenplay professor, Neil W., for his help and encouragement on my story and many thanks to my friends and family for inspiration as well! And most importantly, thanks to Stan Lee who showed me that "if you have an idea that you genuinely think is good, don't let some idiot talk you out of it", thank you good sir! The scene opens with a large grassy field. A large ox moves in front of us. It pulls a PLOW with a MIDDLE AGE MAN walking behind it. He is wearing overalls, dark, built and strong like a bull but with a kind heart. This is ARTURO CONVALLE. A YOUNG GIRL follows behind. She is small, light, and is exploring the field with curiosity while holding her favorite toy. This is YOUNG MATILDE CONVALLE, Arturo's daughter.
Arturo stops and glances at sky when he hears a MOTOR SOUND from a far distance. He remains standing still for a while until...
He grabs his daughter's hand and the two start to RUN away from us. When they are far enough and become tiny figures, a massive PLANE ENTERS our view. It is an AGO 192 KURIER WARPLANE. This is the monster that terrifies Arturo.
CUT TO:
EXT. - SKY, ABOVE THE LAND
We enter CLOSE UP VIEW of the WARPLANE in the sky. We see the pilot in the cockpit searching for the farmhouse.
CUT BACK TO:
EXT. - FARM FIELD
Arturo runs across the field with Young Matilde. The PLANE flies over them. The two reach and ENTER the farmhouse seconds later.
CUT TO:
INT. - INSIDE COCKPIT OF PLANE
We return to CLOSE UP VIEW of the pilot inside the cockpit. He points at the farmhouse. Another man, a MILITARY OFFICER, appears behind the pilot and looks below at the house. He smiles and utters several Sumerian words to the pilot. The pilot nods.
