"I love you." He whispered in your ear. You felt warm inside and melted even more into his embrace. He smiled and kissed your cheek slowly, rubbing your face softly with his fingers. He knew you liked this gesture most of all.
He left you there, sitting besides him as his arms enveloped you in a tight hug on a rainy Christmas Day. You only thought of the future. Your future, and Sammy's as well.
Now that you were alone, where would he go? With you? With your grandma? Or maybe stay with YangYang for sic months until you can take him in? Nonetheless, you knew one thing.
He has to go with me.

Everything was black around you. You just stood there, looking around at absolutely nothing. It was just silent, no noise whatsoever. You tried to make some kind of noise, hearing nothing come out of your throat.
You had called out his name. Chenle. And yet nothing was heard. You knew your mouth was moving, but everything was pitch black around you. And then you fell out of the sky.
Landing hard, you look around.
A field? What the fuck?
There were sunflowers and roses everywhere. You inhaled the smell of the beautiful flowers, smelling something so sweet from the sunflowers. As you looked at the roses, they were all white. You went over to them and sniffed them, feeling nice again from the sweet smell.
There was this one rose however, that slowly and in small patches, it was staining red, looking this deep and beautiful color.
Feeling weird about it, you still approach it, feeling an odd breeze follow.
Sometimes when it was spring in Korea, you knew this breeze might come because of a thunderstorm. It felt too familiar to you.
You remembered the feeling mostly when you would leave school and start running to your house because of the thick raindrops that fell from the sky as it cried. The breeze is unforgettable, almost nostalgic.
It was warm and yet, it managed to make all the hairs on your arm stick up and then some goosebumps to form right after.
Stepping closer to the single red rose, you pluck it out from the ground.
Your finger didn't get caught on any of the thorns which was a relief, but the smell of blood was still there.
You didn't know where the putrid smell of blood was coming from. It got closer every time you lifted the rose to your nose.
Smelling it again, the smell of the iron and blood was so strong, you almost gagged. It was horrible to smell it. And this rose didn't smell like the other white ones. So why is it different?
Looking around the dreamland, you see the other roses get stained red from their original white color. The smell of blood was horrible and easy to distinguish.
And yet, there was this other smell. It was like perfume almost. Trying to recognize the smell, it was somewhat familiar. Almost like you had grown up knowing it.
Realizing what it was, only one thought crossed your mind.
Dad.
