Jeonghan's right eye was twitching ever so slightly.

Jun wasn't all that phased by it. Seungcheol, on the other hand, was twiddling his thumbs nervously.

Jeonghan, Jun, and Wonwoo who carried Chan inside in his carseat, had arrived home only minutes ago. Jeonghan greeted all of them sweetly before he saw the unpacked groceries and volunteered to put them away, already telling the others to get ready for dinner. That's when Seungcheol had asked if he could talk to Jeonghan alone about something that came up.

The rest of them had proceeded to play it off like they weren't eavesdropping.

Unsurprisingly, it was Jihoon who had said, "Oh, fuck it," before storming into the kitchen and sitting his butt down on one of the dining chairs, glaring at Seungcheol or Jeonghan to even try and kick him out.

Neither of them bothered. Jeonghan was already distracted by the new information and Seungcheol was too busy trying to gauge Jeonghan's reaction.

The rest piled in after Jihoon, watching the scene unfold.

"He was unconcious when we found him. If I hadn't dropped my keys, I wouldn't have seen the trail of blood leading to the alleyway. He was bleeding out from a cut on his shoulder, Jeonghan," Seungcheol continued explaining the events earlier on.

"Then why not bring him to one of the government hospitals? You were already in the city!" Jeonghan retorted. Only Jeonghan could manage to look incredibly threatening with a jar of baby food in his hand.

Jun watched as Seungcheol scratched the back of his head, trying to formulate his next words. "I just.. What if Minghao was in danger? What if the ones responsible for doing this–"

"What if he was in danger? Seungcheol, what if now we're the ones in danger?!" Jeonghan scoffed, setting down the jar so loudly on the counter it was a miracle it didn't shatter. Jun, along with everyone, flinched at the sharp sound. "Need I remind you that we have a baby with us?!"

Said baby was safely situated in Jisoo's lap. Chan was peacefully playing with a teething ring, oblivious to the whole situation while Jisoo's eyes were shifting cautiously between Seungcheol and Jeonghan.

"You know nobody can harm us, not here at least," Seungcheol murmured. It was nice knowing he could keep his cool even in the toughest situations. Jun did not envy Seungcheol's job of trying to get Jeonghan to calm down and see reason, as the eldest often did.

Seungcheol gestured towards the ten other figures in the room, keeping his eyes on Jeonghan. "You know I'd never let anything happen to any of you, especially Chan. Minghao needed our help, just like the rest of the kids before they came here."

"I wouldn't call us kids," Soonyoung grumbled under his breath, pouting very much like one.

Jeonghan gave a quick look around, eyeing all of them. Jun could actually feel Jeonghan's anger dissipate, if only a little. The male let out a huff, closing his eyes with a shake of his head. "How is he then? Minghao, was it?"

"Jihoon hyung healed his wounds," Seungkwan squeaked out before clearing his throat. Seungkwan, Jisoo, Hansol, Jihoon, and Seokmin were seated on the dining table, the rest were standing by the entrance of the kitchen. If the situation were any different, Jun would have found it funny how the rest of them looked like they were watching a movie starring their two oldest hyungs.

Jeonghan ran his eyes over Jihoon. "Did the healing drain you?"

"No," Jihoon answered. "The injuries were bad, clearly whoever inflicted them was filled with rage. Minghao being a vampire helped a lot. Most of his worse injuries were already healing by the time we got him here. I was able to get him in a stable condition in the car."
