Trrriiiiinnggg went my alarm. It's 9am and I have no plans of getting out of bed.
"Dont make me come up there young lady" mom threatens.

"U don't have to" i replied trying not to be rude to her for ruining my plans of staying in bed. I was just about to go back to bed when I remembered my mission. I quickly got ready and ran down for breakfast.

At school I met Pat and Sam. "U guys ready"

"I thought we were giving up" they both said "jinx,jinx,jinx......." they kept saying till i got fed up and shouted;"SHUT IT" they were immediately quiet so was the WHOLE school. "Meet me during lunch at my locker" i ran to class embarrassed.

🔔🔔🔔 Lunch break. I quickly run to my locker. But Pat and Sam weren't there. That's strange they always get there before I do.

Maybe they're in trouble or maybe got distracted by a cute guy or maybe KIDNAPPED 😏😏( I mean 😭😭).

Anyway I guess that means I have to do things on my own. But what do I do 🤔🤔.

Find myself a date for the Halloween party?
Nah. I'm better off single.

Try breaking into that room?
Nah. Might just get into trouble.

Ask the principal kindly and apologize for my behavior.
Naah. 😜😜😛.

Wait for them?
Maybe.

Or just go to the cafeteria like a normal kid and have lunch.
Ok. I'm off.

On my way there I thought I saw heard something bang behind that door. But there were so many around me and none of them heard it. Maybe it's just student who banged a locker like that.

After eating I went back to my locker. Strange they still weren't there 😥 now I'm getting worried. "Have you seen Pat and Sam around?" I asked Lina ( my lab partner). No was the response I got from every person I asked that afternoon.
🔔🔔 School over.

Where are they? The school halls are almost empty. Still no Pat nor Sam. Maybe they didn't want to do this mission anymore but couldn't tell me so decided to avoid me. I pick my stuff and just go home. Sad.

Next day, hoping for good results. I go to their locker instead and surprisingly Sam's locker is open. That's strange. She's never been so careless before. I feel a tap on my shoulder....... turn around slowly....and... Boo! Sam shouts startling me. I hug her and say " where have you been? I've looked all over for u" "yeah I love you too, now get off me. Sorry I couldn't meet you at your locker yesterday. I went there late but didn't see u. I thought that plans were cancelled so I went home early. And my locker is wide open because I was in a bit of a rush to get somethings. "And Pat?" " Don't know haven't seen her since yesterday. I thought maybe you might know something". Okay now I'm scared😥😱😧😩😢🤪. "Let's try find her".

Gosh just five days more and she had to disappear.

Lunch break and still no Pat.
Maybe she's just sick or something.

Okay then maybe I should just go to her house instead.

Phone, phone, but where's my phone. Great. "Hey Emily mind if I borrow your phone for a sec?" "Sure, no prob".
Dialed my mom's number... and...

"Hey Mom I was just calling to tell you that I might be home late but don't worry I'll be at Pat's house" all this without taking a break. "Sure honey. But I hope someone's going with you" "yeah Sam". "okay" I heard her say. "Thanks Emily. Let's go Sam destination Pat's house"

"Hello Mrs Williams" we both greet Pat's mom.
"Is Pat home?" I ask.

"Yes she's upstairs"

"Okay thanks" Sam said.

THANKS! Wow I think I'm losing my mind. Did I just hear her say that word? I look at her surprised 🤨

"What?"

We climb upstairs and see Pat crying on her bed.

"What's wrong girlfriend?"

She whaled even louder.

"Leave me alone"

"Why?"

"Just go" she starts throwing things at us.

"Okay okay we're leaving"

"Wow u're home early" mom teased. Could sense disappoinment but ignored. Then she realized my mood.

"What's wrong dear" she says as she puts her arms around me.

"Nothing just tired"

"Okay sure you don't wanna talk about it"

I nod.

I go upstairs have my bath and change into my PJ. Like on the bed absent minded and didn't realize when sleep payed me a visit.

Next day,
looking for Sam and when I did couldn't even go near her. She was under punishment 😏

She destroyed school property (again), caused a food fight and placed crickets in Jane's locker.

Pat was absent today as well. I'm really worried about her. Maybe it's a family issue.....nah her mom seemed so normal...... Maybe an academic issue......nah she's the best in all her classes....or maybe the princi....aha why didn't I think about it earlier...Mr. Dick...his name suites him well... suites him well😈😡.

I knock on the principal's office door.

"Come in"

Can't believe I'm gonna do this but.....😢
"I'm sorry for my behavior last week, sir"

"Don't worry I forgive u. I know for a fact that u're a nice girl and was only dying of curiosity like a normal teenage girl....." ☹️☹️☹️ This went on for quite a while (ok nearly 3hrs. " Is that all dear or is there something else. "Just wanted to know something" "so there is something else"

" well u see Pat has been absent for two days straight and I still don't know what's wrong with her so I thought you might know something" I said in an innocent tone.

"Well yes....."

I knew it😤😠😡

"....u see she's not been focusing on her studies for sometime now she's always absent minded and so her teachers held a meeting with her parents and told them everything......they claim she even blabber something about a mission or something."

Oh no it's all my fault ☹️☹️☹️☹️😓

Lunch break and Sam is finally free. I tell her everything on seeing her and even she feels guilty. Now what to do.

"Think we should go back to her house?"Sam asked still feeling guilty.

"Nah I think we should just leave her alone for a while"

Couldn't concentrate in the rest of the day's classes. Went in the same state as yesterday but this time carrying the burden of guilt 😭😭😨😩. Couldn't even eat dinner properly. I just lay on my bed and closed my eyes. After doing so tears rolled down my cheeks.
