"You know she's going to get worried right?"
"How will she know? She can't even see" Jayce argued shrugging his shoulders before leaning back a bit against the rail and staring at the now darkened sky revealing that night was consuming the city. Aspen huffed her cheeks before sighing in irritation over how stubborn and a complete jerk her best friend was. Jayce on the other hand was completely disregarded her attempts for him to go home. He didn't consider that place home.
He knew as soon as things got difficult for the woman or she realized how much trouble he was she would give up on trying to be a good parent, to be someone he could lean on. He had seen it far too many times and had gone through it more times than he could count. He closed his eyes, losing himself to his thoughts before scrunching his face at the sudden drops of water he felt hitting his face making him open his dark brown eyes that stared at the dark sky as more droplets began to fall.
"Well that's just fucking peachy." he muttered mostly to himself opening his jacket a bit covering the small red symbiote that hissed in anger at the sudden rain and curled closer to his chest before hiding from the rain droplets. His vision was pulled back to stare at Aspen who had a look of concern on her face.
"It's going to start pouring. You should really get back home."
"That's not my home."
"You're being a little bitch. Come home with me then."
"Asp, I know you're worried but I really need you just leave me alone." Jayce argued pushing her back gently having her stumble for a moment before settling her stance and glared at the ginger haired boy for a moment before sighing in defeat.
"Fine. Just remember you're only hurting yourself and her." she muttered before leaving through the rooftop doorway leaving Jayce in silence.

"Where is he..." Persi muttered mostly to herself staring out the window while her hands messed with the ends of her shirt, twisting the material while biting her bottom lip. Seeing the older woman full of concern for the troublemaker made Ruby stare at her full of concern knowing she cared deeply for him. She didn't really understand why but she knew better than to argue with the brunette. Quickly her hands were in her hair, an irritated sigh escaping her lips knowing fully well she was about to regret her decision but she knew well that it was for her aunt.
"If you want Auntie Persi...I can go look for him..." she said through gritted teeth having the brunette turn to where she heard Ruby speak, her head tilting to the side a bit for a moment while staring at her.
"Are you sure? I know you hate him and I know you're happier without him here." She bluntly told the raven-haired girl who looked away in embarrassment for a moment knowing fully well she was caught.
"He makes you happy and you care about him even though he's a fucking asshole." she muttered folding her arms across her chest with a slight huff making Persi smile gently imagining how the young girl have the same pout as her mother.
"Thank you Ruby, you're a good bean." She praised putting her hand out to pet the top of her hair but only being greeted by air making Ruby smile and stand in front of the woman she saw like an aunt before holding her hand and giving it a small squeeze.
"I promise to bring him back."

"Hey shitface." Jayce heard a rather familiar voice that made him groan in irritation before sitting up and staring at the mysterious figure that was standing in front of him but was cloaked by the darkness.
"What do you want red." He grunted, glaring his gold eyes in irritation seeing Scarlet Seamstress approach him from the shadows. The strike of lightning revealing her suit even more while she took off her mask to reveal Ruby, glaring her amethyst eyes at the boy.
"Go home fuckface."
"Ouch, that hurt. I guess I'll go running home because you told me and that woman will coddle me and make things better." He mocked, clasping his hands together and pretending to stand before flipping her off making her growl dangerously at him.
"You're making her worried you fucking piece of shit."
"She'll get over it and move on with her life. Plus she won't fucking know if I come home or not. She's just an old blind h-" before he could even finish his sentence he could feel the wind being knocked out of him causing him to gasp with a grunt before glaring at Ruby who had slammed him against brick wall, both of them getting drenched in the rain.
"You are so UNGRATEFUL!"
"What do I have to be grateful about?! She's just acting like she cares! Hell! What does sh-"
"You can't be this FUCKING STUPID BUT WE'RE HERE WITH YOU BEING FUCKING STUPID!" She yelled before laughing dryly before releasing Jayce, allowing him to catch his breath and glare at her dangerously.
"What the hell is so funny?"
"You think, she would bring you in her fucking home with that parasite on you, care for you and practically try to raise you if she didn't care? For fucks sake. Think with your fucking brain for ONCE!" She growled angrily before turning her attention to her earpiece hearing a familiar voice.
"Don't. Fucking. Move." She demanded before turning to hearing the message and quickly having her eyes grow wide. "DAMMIT!" She shouted before turning once more to Jayce with a glare while sat on the ground with a look of boredom. A look that just made her blood boil.
"So what's up buttercup?" He asked nonchalantly in a mocking tone as he watched quickly approach him before gripping the front of his shirt, raising him for a moment.
"I just got a message that Auntie Persi went out to look for you. Alone." She told through gritted teeth while Jayce could feel his eyes grow wide for a moment before controlling his emotions but feeling his body grow numb. Ruby scoffed at his lack of empathy and dropped him, not caring if it was rather rough.
"Unlike you, I'm going to find her...but if anything and I mean anything happens to her. I will come for your head" she threatened before placing her mask back and quickly swinging away leaving Jayce alone.
The silence quickly engulfed him while the rain quickly picked up and began to pour down on him, leaving him with his thoughts.
"Shit. What if she walks into traffic? What if she thinks she found me but it's a burglar? No. She's not my responsibility and whatever happens to her, I don't care" he argued shrugging off the thoughts but soon turning to the symbiote who was staring at him under his jacket.
"I'm not going to go look for her."
"Friend."
"I said I'm not going to g-"
"fRiEnD" He screeched angrily making Jayce jump from the loud screech while covering his ears and squinting a bit.
"OKAY! HOLY SHIT! WE'LL GO FIND HER!"
———————-
Persi wandered through the area, her hands an arm reach as an attempt to recognize the area while she cursed under her breath of how much trouble Jayce was giving her but still being worried over him.
"Where is he...I hope he's not hurt...I...I can't lose anymore people..." she thought to herself bitterly, the tears threatening to fall but quickly she rubbed them away before continuing on to find him. She could normally sense when he was around due to her spider-senses but for some reason she couldn't tell if he was near or far. She felt a strange sense behind her and quickly turned on her heel, stepping a feet few back before facing an unknown stranger.
"Seems someone's lost. Maybe I can show you how to get back home." The gruff voice told more than asked, the smell of alcohol lingering on his breath, making Persi scrunched her nose and step back a bit more. She knew she was rusty from not fighting for years but she was sure she could take on the stranger.
Before either of them could make another step toward each other the stranger was suddenly knocked down against a few trash bins. The sound echoing through the alleyway that Persi had walked into.
"The fuck...who the f- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" The stranger asked in fear as Jayce engulfed by his symbiote approached the man, a dangerous aura surrounding him as he licked his lips.
"You tried to hurt her."
"I-I didn't! I swear! I didn't touch the bitch, I swear!" He screamed making Persi huff at being called a bitch but feeling her heart becomes full hearing the words she had been hoping to hear.
"THAT'S MY MOTHER. DON'T TALK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT. YOU'RE DEAD."
—————————
"OW! WOMAN!" Jayce yelled being hit upside the hit by Persi with a wooden spoon while his symbiote happily ate the snack that Persi had prepared for him.
"You has me worried sick you shit!"
"I came back didn't I?!"
"That's besides the point! I was worried about you! You can't just leave and not tell me. Come on Jayce." She tried to reason with a soft look crossing her face making Jayce feel guilty for worrying her so much. With a loud groan he hung his head before going over and hugging the small woman.
"I'm sorry for worrying you." He muttered making Persi smile gently before hugging him back.
"I forgive you. After all, I am your mother."
"I DIDN'T SAY THAT!"
"Why do you have to lie and ruin the moment.
