jungkook spun in his chair, the cold eraser tip of his pencil tapping on his bottom lip gently.

he stared at his sketch pad.

he sighed. the only thing that lied on its pages was the blank silhouette of a man, lines and circles forming its perfect proportions.

his mind was dry.

the last three projects he had designed drained every last ounce of creativity out of him. so after three desperate seconds of feckless thinking, he threw the pad on his desk, drew a smiley face on the blank face of the mannequin, and shot his pencil into its holder.

he groaned, running his hands through his hair.

"still no progress, man?" hoseok asked, laying on his bed.

he shrugged carelessly, "guess not."

his roommate had been awake and scrolling through his phone for three hours, while jungkook had stayed up all night doing absolutely everything but his project.

an 'avant-garde ensemble', something never done before, was mr. ahn's assignment to jungkook's class. the boy groaned inwardly at it.

never done before? jungkook was convinced that humankind was so lawless anything remotely strange had already been done before.

jungkook was tired of avant-garde.

where was he supposed to find something different?

and that was when hoseok cackled loudly, his phone screeching.

jungkook grimaced. "hob, could you turn that down? trying to do something here," he stratched his head.

"dude, you have to check this out," he giggled, "have you seen those videos on twitter? about stealing aliens?" the boy continued to laugh, fully entertained by another stupid area 51 video.

jungkook rolled his eyes. "that petition thing on facebook?"

"the petition's completely filled up." he said in astonishment, "i might just mess around and join.
i might actually find someone who isn't lame." he chuckled.

"facebook," jungkook scowled in disgust. "i swear, that app's where all the crazy people congregate." he shook his head, picking up his pencil to darken the lining around his still empty mannequin.

"just-, whatever, just turn it down or help me, you're done with yours anyways."

hoseok threw his phone on his pillow, leaving the bed to stand beside the struggling student, "try a low neck, then, i don't know, accentuate his torso with a high waist maybe, then a shorter cut on the ankle."

jungkook scrunched his nose and stretched his neck to the side, not feeling the outfit. "it's sleek, just not," he pressed his lips together and let out another sigh, "it's just not, unique enough."

hoseok was one of jungkook's most creatively fashionable friends. he was mr. ahn's favorite designer and pulled off every outfit he wore, even the most eccentric ones, and jungkook knew it was because he had sparkled his own flair into each one of them.

he wanted that too, in his own way.

hoseok ran his fingers along his chin, "when's the deadline again?"

"in a week," he spun once more, facing the latter.

"an inspiration must come by then. go visit a walmart, i don't know. it'll come somehow." he laughed, and jungkook chuckled at him, his smile quickly faltering as he looked at the outfit.

"well, gotta go," hoseok said, putting the strap of his backpack on. "don't rot in here all day again, go out sometime. 'kay?"

jungkook nodded. "see you."

and with the click of the door, he pulled his seat closer and drew an astronaut helmet on the guy's head.

"that'll do for now, i guess."

he sighed.

"i really hope it comes, hoseok." he breathed out.

"just come, no matter how strange you may be."
