Natsuki skipped fourth grade because she's actually pretty smart. Because of that, most other people in her grade are about a year older than her. (she's only one in the club who is still 17)
She had really good grades, until her mom died in the middle of fifth grade. Then, they starting slipping. And when her dad started drinking and getting abusive, everything went to shit.
Natsuki almost failed Sophomore year, until she met Yuri. They bumped into each other at a book store and Natsuki recognized her from one of their classes. They soon became friends and Yuri helped her study and tutored her; usually at Yuri's house.
Now, Natsuki is doing OK in her classes. Her grades could be better but at least she not failing.
