I'm waiting for my ship to come in
stuck as I am
feet in the quick sand
I see smoke on the horizon
towering in the air
sure it's finally here.
I hold my breath just a bit longer
knowing I have no time to wait
hoping to see some sails
The water rushes up around me
it used to move so slowly
but now it takes no time
As the sea covers me completely
I know I should be swimming
but my feet aren't made to move
in the distance I hear the boats pass
floating above my head
by the time the water recedes
my ship has already been
