"Hello"
"Why are you not in class?" Mom was yelling at me through the phone. How did she know I wasn't in class.
"What are you talking about?" I lied
"Look get back to school, NOW cause I'm not going to have the school calling me that you didn't report to class. You have 20mins to be back in school and in class."
I said alright and hung up but you best believe I was not going back to school. At least not until I got some food.
"Hey, what can I get started for you?" A lady with tired eyes and a messy bun asked me waiting to take my order.
" I'll take some loaded cheese fries hold the chives, and an order of chicken tenders and a strawberry banana smoothie. Oh yeah and a side of ranch and honey mustard please."
"I'll get that started for you." She told me but before she walked away she looked back at me and asked: " shouldn't you be at school?"
"Um... yes I should but it's my first day and it's off to a bad start," I said looking down at my phone.
"I have a son who goes to high school and well I better not ever catch him ditching." She commented before walking away.
I acted like I didn't hear her comment because I could care less what her son did and didn't.
I felt like she was telling me that just to show that she was a strict mother but by what I saw she didn't look like she could be much of a strict parent.
She brought out my order 15 minutes later. I have to admit the chicken tenders and fries where freaken AMAZING! Definitely topped off McDonald's fries and chicken nuggets. The smoothie was also fantastic.
I probably was at the cafe for a while cause when I looked at the time it was almost 2:40 which meant me going back to school was pointless. I had maybe 20 minutes left. I walked back to school stood under a tree that had plenty of shade and decided to wait for whoever was picking me up from school. The bell had maybe 2 minutes left before it would ring and the prisoners from school would be released.
The bell ring and everyone started heading out. Some to there cars and some to the busses. The girl I had met with the red hair noticed me waiting.
"Hey! I have you in home Ed and you weren't there?" She asked in a sweet but nosy type of voice. She seemed to be that typical girl that would run and tell the teacher. Or at least she sent that vibe."Oh, I had some issues," I said not wanting to say too much.
Honk! Honk!
A car honked and she got inside before she could ask another question. After waiting 20 minutes for whoever was picking me up I decided to call mom.
"Yes, honey?"
" who's picking me up? I want to go home" I said in a pretty depending voice.
"Um. Hailey is supposed to pick you up. She must be running late. Give it a few." She said really fast then hung up.
Well sucks to suck huh.
After maybe what seemed like hours I didn't see anyone showing up, I decided I would walk home.
I walked for a whole hour then realized I was lost. I was lost and so was my Google Maps. Well damn. I went into a cafe that I noticed nearby, cause after all that walking I was starving.
"Welcome to Tys Cafe"
A young boy with familiar hazel eyes and a super white smile greeted me as I reached the counter."Hey aren't you the new girl at school?" He didn't even hesitate to ask.
"Yeah, and you are?" I may have sounded a bit rude but I was confused and Hungry.
" I'm in your 1st hour. Mr. Hurtman English."
"Oh, your that guy who was staring at me and making me feel like a strange creature" I honestly should have kept that to myself but it all sort of came out.
"Geez, I didn't mean make you feel like that. We barley get new students. I guess it just felt weird." He paused and stared into my eyes I felt like he could see my future. "Anyways what can I get you?"
"Oh um... Maybe a grilled cheese sandwich, fried okra, a slice of pepperoni pizza and a sweet tea. "
"You're a very small girl for all that food. It will be out in 15"
He seemed surprised probably thought I was going to order a salad. As if. I would never eat a salad for pleasure. If I was going to eat I would eat well. Plus I'm growing and what better for growing then food!
As I waited I looked down at my phone and realized it was dead. I had not brought my charger and I was clearly lost.
