"If you don't get here in the next 30 seconds they'll be hell to pay Alexis!"
I quickly shove my remaining clothes into my bag, turn my music off and run downstairs.
"Get some breakfast then get in car. I don't have time for this. Not today."
I understand this is hard for her but does she really have to be such a bitch about it?
I walk into the kitchen and see my two younger brothers dripping in orange juice and Cheerios.
"Boys! How did this happen? You know mum doesn't have time for this. If you can go upstairs and completely dry off and change your clothes, I'll give you both £5. Deal?"
They don't even bother to answer, just race upstairs pushing and shoving as they go.
Sometimes the only way to get my brothers to listen is through money.
It's not like it's effecting me though, I just take the money out of their money box and hand it back to them.
I put some bread in the toaster and check my phone for any new messages while it's toasting.
Laura
Imma miss you. I'll come visit though. I promise. This will be good for all of you. A change of scenery. Good luck!"I sigh. We've become so close recently and now I'm leaving her.
I'm doing it for mum though. That's what I have to keep reminding myself.
For mum.
I butter my toast, slip on my jacket, grab my toast then I'm out the door.
I'm always first to the car so I get the window seat.
It's a further 30 minutes and a lot of shouting before everyone is ready and in the car.
By then I've already listen to about a third of my playlist and am trying to stretch out the songs as long as possible.
"This is it." Mum says, "from now on, we don't look back."
"This is it." My brothers mutter. They don't fully understand everything that's going on or why we need to move but one day they will, just not now.
Then, we drive off, leaving my old life behind and welcoming a fresh start.
I guess I should give you a little detail about what's happening.
A couple weeks ago, my dad committed suicide in this house. I was the one to find him.
My mum thinks he's a coward and weak for leaving us instead of fighting it through.
I understand him though. He got tired of fighting a losing battle everyday, he was just.....tired.
Anyway, my mums mental state got bad and she started seeing things in the house.
The doctors advised we should move out of the house but my mum took it one step further and moved out of the country instead.
And that's pretty much it, for now anyway.
