Steph and her family have been traveling all over since she could remember. Her dad is a Lieutenant General in the marines, so they have to move frequently. There was something very different about this new neighborhood. There was this picture perfect family next door, that kept trying to get close to her. They would come to family dinners, game nights and they even came with on family vacations.
They were the Penmark's, but the one that caught her eye the most was their son Carter Penmark. He was 5"10, dark green eyes, curly light brown hair, fine brown skin and tiny light freckles under his eyes. He wore a shiny gold stub earring in his left ear and wore a silver chain with a cross. He seemed perfect in every single way but one....
At night she would hear loud explosions and yelling coming from their house, but every time she tried to tell her parents they would say she was just hearing things. She would even go as far as asking Carter about it, though he would only say that he has no idea what she's talking about. This situation right here made her feel crazy, so crazy she started having to see a counselor because no one would believe anything she said.
