Chandler's P.O.V

The Wounds and the bruises were burning, and i couldn't lay down to actually relax, which was hell. So i just sat here at the dining table chatting with jake on Whatsapp.
Which were only for emergencies when i texted him, or did something stupid for a viking like him to come over.
We were talking about the good times, which internally reminded me that i wasn't in hell with beth, and just wanted to scape.

Jake🔱: Everyone kept saying on twitter that the fact that you won in that challenge was illegal lmao

                                     ChAnDler: 😂😂

Jake🔱: yeah, kinda fax
Jake🔱: Anything new m8?

                           ChAnDler: Yeah, kinda.

Jake🔱: Like what?

              ChAnDler: Abusive relationship

Jake🔱:😨Is there any way that i can help you!?! i mean, get away dude😖

          ChAnDler: I am currently at Chris's
Jake🔱: ok😖good. But i mean, get away from that toxic relationship:(

                          ChAnDler: Beth

Jake🔱: wait wait what

Jake🔱: Chris actually had a girlfriend named beth, but i actually never got to meet her. They are split now.

                      ChAnDler: It could be any1

Jake🔱: yeah, but i'm just saying.

         ChAnDler: Well.......Unless?

Jake🔱:Possibilities Chandler.
Jake🔱: I'm kinda worried now
jake🔱:Describe her???

            ChAnDler: Silky, Wavy hair. Green-ish eyes. Likes to wear rings (sometimes) Kinda smol.

Jake🔱: Mhm
Don't know how she looks like tho

Jake🔱: Me and chris have known each other for years, I have lots of pictures of him in my gallery in my phone. We used to take pics, he and his girlfriend used to visit often, but those memories are very blurry.
maybe i have one in my phone.

           ChAnDler: Try and look 4 one.

Jake's P.O.V

I had to do this simple task to get him to get away.
It kinda feels like mission impossible.
Like i'm in my own world trying to solve a simple case.
No, My friend is at the peak of a toxic relationship.
But there are thousands of Beth's out there. Right? But out of all of those there's always a possibility.

I went through my photos. From the most recent one to the one that brought me a wave of good memories.
There were photos that you could tell were old, from like 2013-4 Or even older.
They had been dating for a long time. Beth was just the "Gem" that belonged to Chris. How he liked to describe her.

Kinda cringe when i think about it.

The old photos were absolutely nostalgic. Thinking that i lived such a simple life, and that i lived to that point, that i remember being there, and now it's stuck in my memory.

More nostalgia hits like a truck, photos that are a time machine, and one caught my attention.
We were at a party in this one photo.
I could see the crappy quality of the photo tainted in my skin, as well as the other people.
My eyes, and Chris's eyes looked like orbs, due to the quality.
We had shots of alcohol and tequila that night. The date said 'July 23 2013.'
It has been so long! It felt like it had just happened yesterday. I looked at the photo and smiled. I was still naive, and in college. I looked at the photo more intently. There were more people in the background. People dancing, talking, and drinking.

Something seemed off. Like if i had noticed someone or something that i had recognized from so long ago. Like if that someone was from my past life.
I was about to go back to our Wattsapp conversation, clicking the arrow button, and looking fondly at all those memories.

The off feeling came back as i was looking at our conversation.

Then it hit me.

Silky, Wavy hair. Green-ish eyes.
Likes to wear rings, kinda small.

I went back to the photo gallery, scrolling through all the photos.
July 23, 2013.
I think chandler remembers this night.

I sent it to him, and he surprisingly remember that crazy night.
He noticed Beth in the photo.
He quickly started to ask questions.

"Is that beth?"

"were they dating at the time?"

"Is that the beth that you recognize?"

"Is that another beth?"

"When did this all happen?"

"Were they together?"

I was glad to answer these questions.
"Is that the Beth that you recognize?"
Yes, she looked very familiar. It took me a few seconds to recognize her. But then it hit me.

"Were they dating at the time?"
Yeah. they started dating late August 2012. Till this day i still remember when they started dating.

"Is that another Beth?"
No. When i saw the picture i recognized  her. I remembered the times where we used to hang out at her place.

"when did this all happen?"
Long ago. Feels like ages. July night 2013. The 23rd.

"Is that Beth?"
Yes.

She is toxic?
she was sweet.
She treated Chris like a King.
Like if he ruled her. She used to always smile at him. Happily.

But i guess we are always hiding something. She didn't look like she was.
She didn't hint it.
Now that i think about it, she looked so innocent.
Was she hiding all this?
Did she abuse Chris too?
There's only one way to find out,
I need answers, enough questions.
