*Violet's POV*
I walked up towards Cameron, as he slowed down waiting for me to reach him. My hands shook slightly, and my stomach churned, but I pushed the feelings away.
"Violet, right?" He asked me, picking up the pace once I reached him.
"Yeah" I smiled. It's a good thing it was dark, because my cheeks were burning a bright pink color, I could feel it.
"HERE WE COME!" Tyler yelled.
"Shit," Cam mumbled.
"C'mon!" He said, running off towards the large bushes, and nodding his head in their direction. I began running after him, and he slipped behind a bush.
"There's still room, you can fit next to me" He told me, as I stopped in front of the bush.
"Okay, yeah" I managed to get out. I slipped between the narrow opening of the bush and the house, and he grabbed my hand, pulling me closer.
"We don't need you being visible from the road. I wanna win this" He smiled at me, locking eyes with mine.
"Winning is always nice" I laughed.
"Yeah it is. Sooo... Now we wait." He scratched the back of his neck, and leaned against the wall, so he could rest.
"Yep," I replied shyly. My phone was in my left hand, so in case things got awkward, I'd only be a text away from one of the girls.
"So how old are you?" He asked, as I too leaned against the wall.
"16." I stated nodding my head slightly, as he looked at me with wide eyes.
"WHAT? You look older than that!" He said in disbelief.
"How old do I look?" I asked him giggling.
"Like 17/18. Never would've guessed 16.." He bit his lip and turned his head to look out of the bush.
"Shit, I see someone" He quickly ducked lower, and I followed his lead, but slipped and landed on my butt.
"Are you okay?" Cam grabbed my hand, helping me back up.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine, thanks. I'm still getting used to how dark it is" I told him, embarrassed by my fall.
"Yeah, but I like the dark. I don't know, it's kind of peaceful" He shrugged his shoulders and pulled out his phone to check the time.
The silence continued for what seemed like forever, until Cam began moving behind the bushes.
"I'm going to try running to the base. Do you want to come?" He turned his head to look at me, and I didn't move from my position against the wall.
"I would, but I'd probably get caught. You go" I replied, nodding my head towards Lydia and Matt's house.
"No no come with me! I'll sacrifice myself if they start going towards you." Cam didn't even wait for an answer, before grabbing my hand, and running with me to the base. We safely made it, and he released my hand to pull up his pants that had begun falling.
"See? We did it!" He then pulled me into a hug, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"We make a good duo" I laughed as I pulled away.
"Hell yeah we do! Now we wait for the others." And with that, he took a seat on one of Lydia's front steps, me following his lead.
*Brooke's POV*
I squatted down on top of the branch, and held it tightly, making sure I wouldn't fall out of the tree. I took deep breaths to try slowing down my breathing after sprinting, and adjusted my position so I was sitting with my feet dangling. Thankfully, I think I was high enough so my legs looked like a part of the tree. I looked out towards the street, and saw the other team running around trying to find all of us. I laughed as they grew more and more frustrated with every failed attempt, but quickly stopped myself when I heard leaves crunching around me. I bit the inside of my cheek, as whoever was searching over here paused under the tree.
