'And, father, already found the PM?' Dick asked when he came down the stairs of his father's shop/hideout, Arcana Cabana.
Dick's father, Balthazar Blake, an apprentice of Merlin looked at him and shook his head. 'No, son. After all these years, still nothing. For the first time in my life, I wonder if Merlin is...was right.'
Balthazar sighed deeply. Dick stood next to him and laid a hand on his dad's shoulder. 'Don't worry, father, I'm sure we'll find him, or her. Merlin was always right.'
'I am so lucky that I have you, ' Balthazar said. He chuckled and smiled at Dick, who smiled back.
The two were startled a bit when the front doors flew open. They both looked up and frowned. Someone with a black cape with a hood, which came to its middle, stood in the doorway. The person kept its head down.
'Uh, can we help you?' Dick asked.
The person chuckled slightly and entered the shop. Let's say it's Black Hood. Black Hood looked around at all the stuff that was in the shop until its eyes fell on a scepter. A black, long scepter which looked like it was made out of branches. The person held out its hand and the scepter flew at it. The person ran away with the scepter.
'No! Not the Scepter of Doom!' Balthazar screamed. He followed the mystery person together with Dick.
The person ran into the darkest streets of New York City and was out of sight already.
'He's not gonna get away with it this easily, ' Balthazar mumbled. He held out his hand and thought of the person. 'This way!'
Balthazar and Dick ran into a small, dark street which ended with a small building. It looked a bit like their own hideout. It was scarier and more mysteriously.
'Shall we enter?' Dick asked terrified. He might've seen much in his forever life, but he was a chicken.
'Of course! This person stole a very powerful weapon! If he has the Ember of Nature, then we're doomed!' his father answered.
Without asking any more questions, Dick followed his father into the hideout. The floor creaked beneath their feet. They heard a sound in the basement. They looked at each other and they nodded.
Balthazar snapped his fingers and the floor and the stairs stopped creaking. Father and son grinned when they saw a giant area. In the center, it had a circle with a star. The person stood in the middle of the star. Balthazar and Dick hid on the balcony. A balcony in a basement, nice. The basement looked like someone lived there.
Black Hood took of its cape and hung it on a chair. The mouths of Dick and his dad fell open. Their jaws almost reached the ground.
'A girl?' Balthazar whispered.
Indeed, it was a girl with dark brown hair and she wore a green mask over her eyes. She had light brown eyes and she wore a black pirate top with green leather pants and brown boots. She had the pirate vibe and looked very young.
The girl sat down on the table. A bag laid on it. She took out a brown book with a golden tree on the cover. Black Hood opened it and sighed. A tear escaped.
Balthazar wanted to stand up. 'Let's get the scepter, ' he whispered. 'Wait.' Dick stopped him. Balthazar sat back down.
