We arrived at the party fashionably late. As we stepped into the house all eyes were focused on us. I looked down in embarrassment while Tina flipped her hair that was tied in a high ponytail and gave a playful wave. I heard a few guys whistle and shout at her. I rolled my eyes. Typical. Then to the corner of the room I spotted a full body mirror and I gawked at myself. There in front of me was a girl with bouncy brown curls. She was wearing a lacey black tank (that fit a little too snug if you ask me) and a tight dark blue miniskirt. I groaned at myself. I can’t believe Tina had managed to convince to even walk out of the house like this. She was wearing white booty shorts with a light pink halter top that barely covered her midriff. On any other girl this outfit would probably have looked slutty but on her it was stunning.

“Kara hun.” I blink twice from being snapped out of my trance. I look at her and she beamed down at me. “Smile girl!” I beamed back at her and Tina gave me an approving nod. As soon as she looked away I let the smile drop. I scanned the crowd quickly wondering who could be my mystery guy.

I stopped when my eyes landed on a guy laughing with two other dudes. He was wearing a grey shirt and old wore down jeans. His deep ocean blue eyes lit up when he smiled and I wanted to get lost in them. His sun- kissed blonde hair sparkled even in this dim lighting. It must have been obvious that I was staring at him because I felt Tina nudge me with her elbow.

“Go talk to him.”

“Nn-n-no I j-just couldn’t!” I manage to stutter. She gave me one of her signature evil grins and I instantly feared for my life. I felt a huge shove and I started stumbling toward him.

SHIZNIPPLES!!!

I squeezed my eyes closed and begged that I wouldn’t run into him. For some reason I just could not regain my balance! I felt arms wrap around me and they held me securely until I could recover my composure again.

“Woah there!” His smooth voice exclaimed. The heat started to rise up to my face. I stood up and pushed some of my hair behind my ear. Still looking down I said, “T-thank you!” Oh no. I stuttered again. What am I going to do? He must think I’m some freak!

“No problem Kara. It is Kara right?” I opened my mouth to answer when one of the guys he was talking to shouted, “Hey man we’re gonna go dance!” I think that was Erik but I wasn’t sure. He shouted back to them.

“Sure man! Go on without me.” They left without a second glance and he looked back down at me. “So did I get your name right?”

“Uhuh! And yours is Spencer!” I told him. Wait. Did I just tell him what his name is? Of course he knows his own name! How could I be so stupid? I internally scolded myself. He started laughing and I think by now my face was a bright red. When he was done he looked at me with watery eyes and a huge grin on his face.

“You’re so cute!”

I gawk at him in shock. I think Spencer just called me cute. ME! I made a mental note to thank my crazy friend. I love you Tina! I yelled inside my head. A crazy thought popped in my head. Spencer was in Lyon’s class with me… could he be? That would be so amazing! How would I ask him though without seeming like a creeper? He cleared his throat and interrupted my train of thought. He leaned down so that I could feel his breathe on my ear.
