"Did you have fun last night?" Uncle John asked me as I joined him for breakfast. I raised my eyebrows taking a spoon ready to eat my cornflakes. "I saw you coming with Shawn." He continued and I freeze.
"Yeah." I shrugged trying to play it cool. "I met him there and he offered to take me home since Lele lives far from here." I explained sitting at the table.
"Right, your new friend." He was eating eggs with bacon.
"Lele is fantastic, she's actually trying to start a music career, would you help me helping her?" I smiled innocently and he sighed. "Please uncle John, at least meet her and see if you like her voice."
"Mija, I am so busy right now with Mendes' album, I don't think I have enough time for another singer." I used my puppy eyes and he rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll meet her and see if I can do anything."
"Thank you, you're the best." I cheered happily and finished my breakfast. "I'm sorry I came late yesterday, anyway." I felt so guilty for coming home at 3 a.m., my mom wouldn't approve this kind of things.
"Don't worry, it's LA." He joked. "And you were with my boy, I trust him." I really wanted to tell him that he was my ex-boyfriend, the one that mom told him about. But I knew it wasn't a good idea for many reasons.
"Mhm." I muttered looking at him. "He's not that bad." I shrugged. "I have to go to work whitin two hours, I think I'll go to study." I tried to escape from his interrogatory. "See you later?"
"Sure, I'll make something for lunch." I nodded and kissed his cheek before running into my bedroom.
I still had an exam to study for.

"Camila, the table over there needs to be cleaned up!" Wendy said as I put all the dirty dishes in the kitchen. I nodded and walked quickly towards the table to clean it.
"Wendy, I need someone here." I called her noticing a group of guys sitting and waiting to order.
"I'm here." She took her notepad and went to take their orders as I finished to clean the table, then I went into the kitchen again and started washing the dishes.
"Aw, my little Camila is tired?" Richard asked frying some chips. He had a big smile on his face and I kinda knew that he was talking about the fact that yesterday I wasn't home with my uncle and him.
"I am." I shrugged. "Why?" I giggled at his face.
"Well, a little bird told me you were out with a guy yesterday night." He winked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"I was out with friends." I specified and he nodded still smirking. "I'm serious, there's nothing going on."
"Of course." He put the fried chips on a plate. "I was just making sure that this little and cute girl is ok."
"Oh please." I joked. "I know that uncle John told you everything." I started to dry the dishes. "You two are just daydreaming because I'm just hanging out with some friends."
"Didn't say the opposite." He finished to cook the hamburger. "Now do me a favor at bring this to the table 4, would you dear?" I nodded and took the plate.
"Here you go." I smiled politely at the woman and his son, then came back in the kitchen. "Richard, what time is it?"
He looked at his clock and sighed. "Almost 3 p.m." he sat on a chair and passed his hand on his forehead. "Gosh, I think I'm too old for this kind of job."
"Old? You're still young." I joked and he smiled amused. "C'mon, how old are you? 24?"
"I'm almost 60, but yeah, I'm still young." He laughed. "Thank god you're here with your positive vibes." I shrugged and took a look at the tables, the diner was almost empty.
"I try my best." I sighed. "Next time you come to my house... Bring your dog along with you." I joked and his eyes brightened up with happiness.
"I definitely will, Coconut loves you."
"And I love her." I smiled, Coconut was his daughter's dog, he never really talked about her and I didn't dare to ask him anything about her but Uncle John told me he had some problems with her after she left for college. She left her dog at his house so it was Richard's responsibility.
"Camila." Wendy called me and I rolled my eyes, I was tired and the last thing I wanted to do was cleaning up some tables. "There's a girl here that wants to talk to you." I looked at the clock, it was 3:15 p.m., I stood up and walked towards her, she was talking to a girl that I recognised almost immediately.
"Lele." I greeted her, she smiled happily. "Can I take a break?" I asked Wendy, she looked at the room and then sighed.
"Sure, there's no one anyway. Richard, bring something to these two girls." She smiled and I thanked her.
Then Lele and I sat at one table. "Thank you for coming here, I didn't bring your dress though." I admitted and she scoffed.
"Don't worry, you can keep it anyway." She looked so good even though she wasn't wearing make up at all. "I have news." She clapped her hands. "A lot of my fans saw our pictures from last night and they're all saying that you're beautiful and nice."
"Thanks, I guess." I shrugged, she was well known and I was sure that being her friend meant being somehow in the spotlight, I wasn't used to and I wasn't sure that I wanted to be used to it.
"Some of my friends asked about you." She winked and I blushed looking away. "Should I give them your number or you're too busy with that... Shawn?"
"Ehm." I cleared my throat not knowing what to say to escape from that embarrassing moment.
"Who's you're ex by the way." She raised her eyebrows. "I need explanations here, I don't know how to treat him."
"Ok, ok." I sighed. Wendy brought us two sandwiches and I thanked her before looking at Lele. "We used to date when I was like 15 or so." I shrugged. "He was very popular and I was... Well, me. We met at the cinema where he used to work, he asked me out and then we started dating. I was in love with him, he was like... The best thing that happened to me." I sighed, I remembered how it felt to have him always by my side.
"Ok, so you two are good?" She asked finishing her sandwich while I didn't even eat half of mine. "Like, I don't have rude to him because he didn't break your hear?"
"We can discuss about that." I chuckled and she narrowed her eyebrows. "Well, he basically left me one day saying that he was going to have a career here in the USA and I didn't know about that, he broke my heart and never came back to apologise." I sighed. "Then I met him the other day, he works with my uncle and Shawn just decided to come back into my life."
"So..." She stopped a moment trying to figure everything out. "He broke your heart but now you're friends." I nodded. "You forgave him?"
"I don't know, can I?" I asked more confused than ever. "I just know that being near to him didn't feel that... Bad, even after what happened. The only thing I could think about was our relationship back then."
"Uhm." She nodded. "You can either get back together again or try to be friends, just saying." Lele stood up. "But right now I gotta go, Juanpa is making a new video and he needs me."
"Juanpa." I winked and she rolled her eyes. "See you tomorrow?"
"Absolutely, I'll call you later anyway, our little chat isn't over yet." She smiled mischievously. "I'll to be nice and rude at the same time to Shawn, don't worry."
"As you say." I finished my sandwich and stood up as well. "Go and have fun with Juanpa."
"How dare you." She joked and walked towards the exit. "Bye!"
"Bye." I smiled and then took pur plates before going back into the kitchen. "Let's get to work." I whispered starting to clean the dishes.
What a beautiful day.
