Chapter 2: Goodbye

*2 weeks before the end of senior year*

"I can't believe tomorrow is prom and Carter asked you to go with him, you guys are going to be the cutest couple there, I can feel it" Sierra says as we get our nails done. She's getting a baby pink colour with glitter and I'm getting white with a couple of little diamanté on the ring fingers. "I know who knew this would happen, I certainly did not see this coming and we need to pick up our dresses and the boys suits after this by the way", I say to her because she can be quite a forgetful girlie. "Oh yea we need to do that, I can't wait to see us in our dresses, you're going to look like a literal angel in your white dress" she compliments. "Thx but you're going to look so beautiful in your pink dress though and the boys are going to look so good in their suits, I have to pick up Carter and Shaine's suits" I replied "Yea same, I have to pick up Elliott and Carson's suits, by the way who are the boys bringing as their dates" she asked "Well I'm with Carter, you're with Carson, Shaine is with Maddie, Elliott is with Maisie and Easton is with Ellie I'm pretty sure" I answered as the women finished with our nails. So we paid, picked up the dresses and suits then grabbed lunch and headed back to school for night training.

*Back at the school*

"So how do I ask her to be my girlfriend then ?" I asked Sierra and Carson. "Ooh I know pull her to the middle of the ballroom under the disco ball and just pour your heart out to her, us girls love that stuff" Sierra told me, "Ok, disco ball and pour my heart out got it" I say nodding to them.

*Prom Night*

Sierra and I are putting the finishing touches to our hair and makeup "OMG Rylee you look like you're about to get married but you look beautiful though" Sierra says sweetly. "Aww thank you, you look like a pretty princess" We hug and start walking towards the stairs trying to not fall in these heels, Sierra goes first then me. Oh my god Rylee looks stunning, she looks like she's about to get married. Carson gave me a look saying good luck mate which I returned. Once I reach the bottom of the stairs I walk over to Carter "Wow, you look, wow" was all he could get out "thank you, you scrub up well yourself" I replied, "Ok guys we need to get photos then leave because like usual in the Evans household we are running late again" I say to everyone. All the couples got photos, then individuals, all the girls, all the boys then everyone together. "Ok everyone in the limo".

*The end of prom*

"Hey let's dance" I say pulling her off her seat to the middle of the ballroom where everyone is dancing. I'm starting to get really nervous. The slow music plays as we stand there swaying to the rhythm of the song, well here goes nothing. "Rylee, I have known you for only three years but it has felt like a lifetime, I fell in love with you the moment our eyes met in the cafeteria on Shaine and yours first day, then Elliott and I were selected to show you around and I made you cry and then I hugged you, you made me feel whole in a way no person has ever made me feel and I never want to lose that feeling, so I guess what I'm saying is, umm... Will you be my girlfriend?" I ask. she looks at me with watery eyes and kisses me "That's your answer". We both had the biggest smiles on our faces. After ten more minutes of dancing we sat down because Rylee's feet were hurting her and then we told our friends that we were dating. "Hey guys let's leave here to go and grab some ice-cream in celebration of Rylee and Carter becoming a couple" Shaine says to the group at our table. Everyone agrees and as we leave I give Shaine a hug and say thank you and Carter gives him a handshake so they nod and we all leave and spend the rest of the night at the ice-cream parlour.

*Last Game*

"Ok so I've sent off your paperwork to the college for the scholarship in football for the quarterback position on the team and I've had a chat with your brother and the rest of the staff at the school and they are all ok with you being a girl and going onto the boys team, but I don't know if they have told the team yet that you are a girl but I'm sure it will be fine though, just make us proud ok" Coach Weston says to me looking me straight in the eye. "Thank you so much for everything Coach, and believing in me when not a lot of people did" I replied hugging him. "No problem kid, now get into the changing room and get ready for the game, I'll see you in a bit" Coach says walking into his office and me into the changing rooms. I start by blaring music to pump me up and get me hyped for the game, then I put my hair into two french plaits to fit under my helmet, then I put on my skins on then bottoms, under jersey, pads, main jersey, socks, boots then I grab my mouth guard and helmet and meet the coaches in the hallway. We all go into the boys changing rooms together. I walk over and stand with Carter and Shaine. "Ok guys, I'm not gonna get all soppy cause were all adults here, well the majority of you are, and for the seniors on this squad guys you only have one game left in Kings uniform so make it count", Coach Weston says looking us all the eyes "Ok family on 3, 1...2...3...FAMILY" we all screamed and head out of the changing and getting into position to run through the banner on the field. "1...2...3...RUN" I scream and we charge through the banner and onto the field then into position.
